Zimbabwe has become a strong candidate to host the Women’s T20 World Cup which was originally planned to be held in Bangladesh from October 3- This change in location is due to safety concerns caused by protests against the government in Bangladesh. Along with Zimbabwe the United Arab Emirates is also being considered as a possible host as reported by ESPNCricinfo after India decided not to host the tournament. The International Cricket Council (ICC) is expected to announce their final decision on Tuesday August 20- Despite facing challenges in the past Zimbabwe is now looking forward to playing a neutral role in this international event as the Zimbabwean women’s team has never had the opportunity to compete in a World Cup before.
