CG News: Deputy CM reviewed PWD

Instructed to complete the repair of bad roads by November, asked to complete the works of railway overbridge in mission mode

There should be no compromise with the quality of construction works, complete all the work within the stipulated period – Shri Arun Saw

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Saw urged the Superintending Engineers and Executive Engineers during the meeting to expedite the completion of railway overbridge projects with a sense of urgency. He emphasized that the construction of roads, bridges, and overbridges is integral to infrastructure development and contributes to the state’s reputation. The initial experience of visitors from other states is shaped by the quality of these roads. He highlighted that all departmental constructions must align with the public’s aspirations and needs, insisting on high standards and rejecting any compromises on quality. He mandated the timely completion of all projects and warned that negligence among officers would result in strict repercussions.

In the meeting, Mr. Saw assessed the progress of road and bridge projects funded by the Central Road Fund (CRF), noting that increased work from this fund would lead to greater financial support from the Government of India. He also reviewed the status of roads being developed with ADB loans. Furthermore, Mr. Saw sought updates on the department’s actions following the decisions made during the July 18 meeting in New Delhi, which involved Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Mr. Nitin Gadkari and Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Dev Sai, concerning road development in the state. Additionally, he evaluated the physical and financial progress of the approved road renovation projects for the current financial year 2024-25 and previous years.
