CM appreciates centre’s important decisions to increase exports and ensure fair prices to farmers
After central government declared on Saturday to remove the Minimum Export Price (MEP) on onions and reduce its export duty from 40 percent to 20 percent, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai appreciated the move and said that these decisions will also benefit the farmers of Chhattisgarh.
Central Government has removed the Minimum Export Duty on Basmati rice and increased the import duty on edible oils from zero to 20 percent. Additionally the BJP government has also announced to increase the basic duty on refined oil to 32.5 percent.
In this regard, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said, “Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is consistently making decisions in the interest of country’s farmers and implementing various important programs to enhance the income and overall progress farmers.”
Shri Sai also appreciated Prime Minister’s decision to remove the MEP on Basmati rice as well as increase the import duty on edible oils. Chief Minister said that this decision will show positive impact on farmers of Chhattisgarh as well.
Chief Minister Shri Sai conveyed his gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for the decision made in interest of country’s food-producing farmers.
Chief Minister said that this decision of the Central Government will definitely increase the income of farmers producing soybean, basmati, onion, mustard, sunflower and groundnut. The demand for their produce will increase further in the market.
Chief Minister Shri Sai expressed his gratitude to Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan for prioritizing farmer’s welfare.
