The 26th State-Level School Hockey Competition, organized by the Chhattisgarh government’s School Education Department, began with a grand ceremony at the international-level Astroturf Hockey Stadium in Jashpur on Sunday. The competition will be held from July 26 to 29, 2026, where talented players from all five divisions of the state will showcase their sporting talent.
Jashpur MLA Mrs. Raimuni Bhagat inaugurated the competition by hoisting the flag and saluting the various teams. A total of 240 players, including 160 boys and 80 girls, from five divisional headquarters are participating in the competition. More than 35 coaches and managers are also present.

On this occasion, MLA Mrs. Raimuni Bhagat, while wishing the players, called upon them to make the name of their district and state proud at the national level with sportsmanship, discipline and excellent performance.
Municipal Council Chairman Mr. Arvind Bhagat said that it is a matter of pride for Jashpur that it has got the opportunity to host the state level school hockey competition for the second consecutive year. He told that last year also the 25th state level competition was successfully organized.

The modern Astroturf hockey ground developed in Jashpur is providing better facilities to the players for high level training and competitions, due to which hockey is getting a new identity in the district. Municipal Council Chairman Mr. Arvind Bhagat, Vice Chairman Mr. Yash Pratap Singh Judev along with many public representatives, officers, employees, school children and dignitaries were present in the inauguration ceremony.
