Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today released the 30th installment of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana from the Chief Minister’s residence office and transferred an amount of Rs 630 crore 55 lakh 54 thousand 300 through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the bank accounts of 67 lakh 20 thousand 125 eligible women of the state. Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, Principal Secretary Smt. Shehla Nigar and Director Dr. Renuka Srivastava were present on the occasion.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said that the Mahatari Vandan Yojana is one of the state government’s major public welfare schemes, aimed at empowering women economically and providing them with a respectable and self-reliant life. He said that when mothers and sisters are economically empowered, families become stronger, children’s futures are secure, and society moves forward in new directions of development. Therefore, empowering women is a top priority for the state government.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that this scheme is not limited to providing a monthly assistance of one thousand rupees, but has become an effective means of strengthening women’s self-confidence, decision-making ability, and social participation. Millions of families in the state are using this money for important causes such as education, health, nutrition, and livelihoods, further empowering women’s economic role.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that many women are making good use of the funds received under the Mahatari Vandan Yojana, spending them on their children’s education. Many mothers are regularly investing in the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana for their daughters’ bright future. A large number of women have increased their income by starting small businesses like sewing, beauty parlors, dairy, grocery stores, vegetable sales, animal husbandry, incense stick manufacturing, and other small-scale self-employment ventures. Through this, they are not only meeting their family’s financial needs but also setting a new example of self-reliance at the local level.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that good governance does not mean merely formulating schemes, but also ensuring that their benefits reach the last person in a timely and transparent manner. The Mahtari Vandan Yojana is a result of this thinking, under which a monthly deposit of Rs 1,000 is directly transferred to women’s bank accounts. The DBT system has increased transparency and strengthened women’s trust in the government.
He said that the state government is continuously working towards the overall development of women in various areas such as education, health, nutrition, self-employment, skill development, and financial inclusion. The Mahtari Vandan Yojana is an important pillar of all these efforts, providing women with economic security and social respect.

The Mahtari Vandan Yojana was launched on March 1, 2024. With the release of the 30th installment today, the total amount distributed under the scheme has increased to over ₹19,444 crore 33 lakh. The impact of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana is now clearly visible in millions of families across the state. Regular financial assistance has boosted women’s self-confidence, strengthened their participation in household decisions, and increased spending on children’s education, nutrition, and health. The economic situation of many families has improved, and women have begun earning additional income through self-help groups and small businesses. Women’s economic empowerment is the strongest foundation for inclusive development. The Mahtari Vandan Yojana, realizing this vision, is strengthening the dignity, self-respect, and self-reliance of women and playing a crucial role in building a developed Chhattisgarh.
