A large number of people—including Raipur Municipal Corporation Chairman Mr. Suryakant Rathore, former MLA Mr. Shrichand Sundrani, Culture Department Head Mr. Amar Gidwani, former Councilors Dr. Pramod Sahu and Mr. Mohan Uparkar, office-bearers of the Lodhi community, women, dignitaries, youth, senior citizens, and the general public—gathered at the District Hospital premises in Pandri to pay their respects to Queen Avanti Bai Lodhi on this occasion.
Municipal Corporation Chairman Mr. Suryakant Rathore remarked that the life of the brave Queen Avanti Bai Lodhi is truly inspiring. Following the demise of her husband, she admirably fulfilled the dual roles of nurturing her family and serving as the Queen of the Ramgarh region in Madhya Pradesh. Displaying extraordinary valor during the Revolution of 1857, the brave heroine defeated the British forces on multiple occasions and drove them out of Ramgarh. Even when surrounded by the British army on all sides, she fought them single-handedly on the battlefield with remarkable tenacity until her very last moment; refusing to surrender, she ended her own life with her sword and attained martyrdom on the battlefield.
Shri Amar Gidwani, Head of the Municipal Corporation’s Culture Department, and Dr. Pramod Sahu, former Councilor of the Raipur Municipal Corporation, paid respectful tribute to the brave heroine Rani Avanti Bai Lodhi on her 195th birth anniversary, hailing her exceptional combat skills, indomitable courage, and valor as truly unique.
