In a significant initiative to provide better and state-of-the-art treatment to cancer patients in Chhattisgarh , Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated the Care Cancer Institute at Ramakrishna Care Hospitals, Raipur. With the opening of this state-of-the-art cancer institute, patients in the state will be able to receive cancer screening, accurate diagnosis, surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and other necessary treatments all under one roof.

Cancer cases are steadily increasing in Chhattisgarh. Nearly 100 new cancer cases are projected to be reported daily in the state. Approximately 31,553 cancer cases are projected in 2025, compared to 30,763 in 2024. These figures underscore the need for timely cancer screening, early detection, and increased availability of specialized treatment within the state.
Currently, many patients from Chhattisgarh and surrounding areas must travel to major cities for specialized cancer treatment. Treatments often last months, requiring patients and their families to travel long distances repeatedly. This increases their physical and mental stress, as well as their financial burden.
The new Care Cancer Institute will bring together specialists in surgical oncology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, nuclear medicine, and plastic and reconstructive surgery to treat patients.
Here, patients will be provided with a comprehensive range of facilities ranging from examination and diagnosis to treatment planning, surgery, systemic therapy, radiation therapy, critical care, supportive care and palliative care.
The institute features modern facilities such as day-care chemotherapy beds, a Versa HD linear accelerator for precise radiation therapy, an AI-enabled PET-CT machine for better and more accurate diagnosis, specialized bone marrow transplant suites, and a tumor board room. The institute’s design and environment have also been carefully designed to ensure patient recovery and comfort.
Care Cancer Institute draws on the strong foundation of Ramakrishna Care Hospitals’ 36 years of medical service and experience in Chhattisgarh. For over three decades, the hospital has provided specialized medical services for complex diseases to patients in Chhattisgarh and neighboring states.
Cancer patients who also have other complex health problems will be able to avail the hospital’s other medical and surgical specialties within the same hospital complex.

The addition of state-of-the-art cancer treatment facilities in Raipur is another important step in this journey. Institutions that bring modern technology and expert treatment closer to patients will further strengthen the state’s healthcare system.”
Health, Family Welfare and Medical Education Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said , “Early detection and timely treatment are crucial in the fight against cancer. Our effort is to provide the people of Chhattisgarh with access to better awareness, screening, testing, and quality treatment facilities within the state. The Care Cancer Institute will further strengthen these efforts through modern technology and specialized services.”
