Balrampur – Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai participated in the Shri Maharudra Yagna and Shiv Puran Katha at the holy land of Karra village in Ramanujganj district.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today participated in the Shri Maharudra Yagna and Shiv Puran Katha organized in village Karra under Rajpur development block of Balrampur-Ramanujganj district. Chief Minister Shri Sai performed Rudrabhishek and worship of Lord Shiva at the ancient Baba Karmeshwar Dham as per the rituals and prayed for the happiness, prosperity, well-being and progressive progress of the people of the state. On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai announced the construction of Mangal Bhawan in village Karra. He said that with the blessings of Baba Karmeshwar, this area should move forward on the path of continuous development, for which the state government will take forward the necessary development works with priority.
Addressing the devotees, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that it is a matter of great fortune to be holding the Shri Maharudra Yagya and Shiv Purana Katha on the sacred land of village Karra. He paid his respects to the narrator, Acharya Divyanand Ji Maharaj, and extended his best wishes to the organizing committee and all the devotees. He said that worshipping Lord Shiva during the holy month of Shravan holds special significance. He prays to Lord Bholenath that his blessings continue to prevail over all of Chhattisgarh and that every family is blessed with happiness, peace, and prosperity.
- ‘Work is underway to preserve and enhance the spiritual heritage of Chhattisgarh’
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Chhattisgarh is a land of rich traditions of religion, culture, and faith. It is the birthplace of Mother Kaushalya and the maternal home of Lord Shri Ram. Every village in the state has a glorious tradition of ancient Shiva temples, Devi temples, and centers of folk faith. The state government is continuously working to preserve and promote this rich spiritual and cultural heritage.
He said that work is underway to connect the state’s major Shaktipeeths in the form of a religious corridor. This will not only provide better facilities to devotees, but will also promote religious tourism and create new employment and livelihood opportunities at the local level.
- Nearly 50,000 devotees visited Ram Lalla.
Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that Chhattisgarh has a deep and intimate connection with Lord Shri Ram. Through the state government’s Shri Ram Lalla Darshan Yojana, devotees from the state are getting the opportunity to visit Lord Shri Ram in Ayodhya. So far, approximately 50,000 devotees have visited Ayodhya and visited Ram Lalla through this scheme.
He added that the Tirtha Darshan Yojana has also been launched, keeping in mind the religious faith and desire of senior citizens of the state to visit pilgrimage sites. Under this scheme, 19 major pilgrimage sites across the country have been identified. So far, approximately 10,000 devotees have taken advantage of this scheme and visited various pilgrimage sites.
- “Bastar is moving forward into a new era of peace and development.”
Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that under the blessings of Baba Karmeshwar and the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, significant progress has been made in freeing Bastar from Naxalism. A new environment of peace and development is emerging in areas affected by violence for decades. Roads, education, health, electricity, communication, and other basic amenities are being rapidly expanded to remote areas. The government is committed to ensuring that the benefits of development reach every family in the remotest corners of the state. The Chief Minister stated that development work will be continuously accelerated in Balrampur-Ramanujganj districts, including Karra. The government is committed to expanding essential amenities here while preserving the region’s religious and cultural heritage.
- Baba Karmeshwar Dham is a centre of age-old folk faith.
Baba Karmeshwar Dham, located in the village of Karra, is an ancient and important center of folk faith in the region. According to local belief, the Shivalinga enshrined here appeared naturally. According to folklore, the Shivalinga originated in the shell of a Sal tree around the ninth or tenth century, and the tradition of worshipping Lord Shiva has continued here ever since. Currently, the temple’s restoration work is being carried out by the Shri Karmeshwar Mahadev Temple Restoration Committee.
The region’s folk beliefs are also deeply connected to Baba Karmeshwar. According to local lore, in ancient times, when the region lacked sufficient rainfall, villagers would perform special prayers to Lord Shiva. Applying cow dung to the Shivalinga is also a traditional practice. Locals believe that this ritual brings rain to the region. Such folk beliefs, passed down through generations, have made Baba Karmeshwar Dham an important center of the region’s religious and cultural identity.
- ‘Planted a Rudraksha plant in the name of mother’
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai planted a Rudraksha sapling in the name of his mother, Smt. Jasmani Devi Sai, at the Baba Karmeshwar Dham temple complex as part of the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 3.0” campaign. On this occasion, the Chief Minister gave a message of environmental protection and urged people to fulfill their responsibility towards nature and plant as many trees as possible.
Culture and Tourism Minister Mr. Rajesh Agrawal also planted a vine sapling in the temple premises. Other public representatives and officials also planted saplings under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign. On this occasion, Culture and Tourism Minister Mr. Rajesh Agrawal, Pathalgaon MLA Mrs. Gomti Sai, IG Mr. Deepak Jha, Surguja Divisional Commissioner Mr. Narendra Dugga, Collector Mrs. Chandan Sanjay Tripathi, Superintendent of Police Mr. Vaibhav Banker, along with other public representatives, dignitaries and devotees were present in large numbers.
