Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai flagged off the “Science on Wheels” vehicle at Camp Office Bagiya today. Bringing science closer to schools and students, this mobile science laboratory will introduce children to the world of science and technology through interesting experiments, scientific models, and activities. Students from areas with limited access to modern scientific resources will especially benefit from it.
Praising this initiative, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that children naturally have a curiosity to know and understand the world around them. It is essential to connect this curiosity with scientific thinking, experimentation, and innovation. “Science on Wheels” will provide children with an opportunity to understand the science they learn in books through experiments. This will develop in them the tendency to ask questions, conduct experiments, and find scientific solutions to problems.
He said that today, science and technology are playing a vital role in every aspect of our lives. The coming era is one of new technologies and innovation. Therefore, introducing students to the practical aspects of science and technology during their school education will prove beneficial for their future. Such initiatives will play a crucial role in recognizing children’s talents and motivating them to pursue science, research, and innovation.
The hallmark of “Science on Wheels” is that it doesn’t limit science to theoretical knowledge; it offers students the opportunity to conduct experiments and participate in hands-on activities. Scientific models, experiments, and exhibitions will be delivered to schools through the vehicle, enabling students to understand various scientific principles in a simple and engaging way.
The program will primarily engage students with four key modules: Space Technology will introduce them to the fascinating world of the universe and space science. Robotics will develop an understanding of new technologies, innovation, and future technological skills. The Sustainable Development module will sensitize students to environmental protection, prudent use of resources, and building a better future. Experiments will also be conducted to explain clean water, water conservation, and related scientific solutions through water filtration.

The aim of ‘Science on Wheels’ is not just to show students science experiments once, but to develop a lasting interest in science, innovation and technology. Through various activities, experiments, models and exhibitions, children will be given a learning experience that inspires them to ask questions, seek answers and work on new ideas.
This initiative will foster a scientific outlook, problem-solving, logical thinking, creativity, and innovation in students. Early exposure to future technologies will also help prepare students for the changing world.
- “Science on Wheels,” being implemented in three states, is being
supported by the Department of Science and Technology. “Science on Wheels,” a national initiative, is being implemented in Chhattisgarh, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh in collaboration with Plaksh University, Plaksh Foundation, and PTI Mandi.
In Chhattisgarh, this initiative places special emphasis on bringing practical science education closer to students. Its objective is to develop a scientific temper in young minds, connect them with new technologies and innovations, and prepare them for their role in building a strong India through knowledge and science.
On this occasion, Chief Minister’s wife Smt. Kaushalya Sai, Collector Shri Rohit Vyas, Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Lal Umed Singh, Chief Executive Officer of District Panchayat Shri Abhishek Kumar along with a large number of women from self-help groups and other dignitaries were present.
