- Interacted with the farmers who attended the Balram Agricultural Festival in Rewa
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that farming, especially horticulture and natural farming, is not the answer to Rewa. He said that due to the hard work and dedication of the farmers, paddy, wheat, gram, lentil, linseed and soybeans have been produced in abundance here. This has strengthened the economy of Rewa district. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the farmers at Balram Krishi Mahotsav in Rewa district through video conferencing from the Ministry on Monday.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav told the farmers that the Sleemanabad tunnel work is nearing completion. After completion of this tunnel, clean water from Narmadaji will reach the farms of Rewa district. This will increase irrigation and drinking water facilities in the area. He said that the residents of Rewa will get irrigation facilities for about one lakh 32 thousand hectares of land after the completion of the irrigation projects of Tyonthar, Lonhi, Sirmaur and Semaria. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav told the farmers that the state government will provide free registration to all such lease holders who have land leases but no registry. The state government will bear the registry fee of such 50 lakh pattas (about 4 thousand crore rupees).
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav interacted with the people’s representatives of the district and 4 progressive farmers and got information about their experiences after traditional farming apart from the innovative farming being done at present. Farmers said that technical farming with advanced agricultural machinery and natural farming with the use of biological fertilizers are more beneficial. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav called upon the farmers from across the district to adopt natural farming, horticulture, green food, animal husbandry and crop diversification.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that to promote natural farming, an area of one thousand hectares in Rewa district is being developed as a natural farming cluster. Basaman Mama Cow Sanctuary is a major center of our cow conservation and rural self-reliance. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the ‘Natural Farming Training Center’ operated in Gaushala is helping all the farmer brothers here in learning and adopting modern techniques of organic farming, solid organic farming and natural farming.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that beyond traditional farming, farmers of Rewa are setting new records in horticulture and natural farming. He said that guava, amla and jackfruit are produced on a large scale in Rewa, which shows the agricultural diversity here. Reva Sri Anna is also advancing in production. Coarse grain crops like Kodo-Kutki are being expanded under the State Millet Mission to diversify agriculture. Shree Anna cultivation not only increases the income of the farmers but also strengthens the nutritional security of our families. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also wished all the farmers on Teja Dashami, Dol Gyaras and Ganeshotsav.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla also addressed the farmers at the main event venue of Balram Agricultural Festival held in Rewa. A large number of Kisanbandhus were present on this occasion including the Administrator of MP State Cooperative Bank (APEX Bank) Mr. Mahendra Singh Yadav, Chairman of Vindhya Development Authority Mr. Panchulal Prajapati, Vice Chairman Mr. Praveen Tripathi, District Panchayat President Rewa Smt. Neeta Kol, Mr. Siddharth, Mr. Kapil Yarde, Mr. Virender Gupta.
