  • Discussions held on maternal and child nutrition alongside displays of nutritious meal plates

A festive atmosphere prevailed at Anganwadi centers on the first day of the ‘Angan Milan Seva’ (Anganwadi Outreach Service), launched across the state on Friday as part of the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ (Service Pledge Campaign). A total of 12,698 activities were organized at 2,262 locations statewide, drawing the participation of 97,471 people. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai also attended the ‘Angan Milan Seva’ program held at Madku in Mungeli district and conveyed a message regarding maternal and child nutrition.

Pregnant women were welcomed at the Anganwadi centers. Families were educated about balanced diets through displays of locally available nutritious foods, pulses, and green vegetables. Through the demonstration of a ‘Suposhit Thali’ (nutritious meal plate), women learned how incorporating a variety of foods into daily meals can improve nutrition for both mothers and children. Parents also participated in the programs, sharing their experiences related to nutrition and maternal health.

Beneficiaries of the ‘Mahtari Vandan Yojana’ and ‘Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana’ shared that the assistance received through these schemes is enabling them to meet their own and their families’ needs. The ‘Angan Milan Seva’ initiative emphasized making child nutrition a shared responsibility by connecting families and the community with Anganwadi centers.
