- Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal inaugurated the Mega Health Camp under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.

Under the Sashakt MCB Seva Sankalp Abhiyan 2026, a two-day mega health camp was inaugurated today at Mangal Bhawan in Podi, Chirmiri, under the chief patronage of Health and Family Welfare Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal and the chairmanship of Chirmiri Municipal Corporation Mayor Ram Naresh Rai. The two-day camp offers the district’s residents access to a single facility with specialist doctors for various serious and common ailments. The camp aims to screen and treat 10,000 people.
Before the program’s launch, Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal and public representatives visited the Atal Complex and offered floral tributes to the statue of former Prime Minister, the late Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The mega health camp was formally inaugurated by lighting a lamp before the photograph of Chhattisgarh Mata at Mangal Bhawan. The Health Minister and public representatives inspected the various health stalls set up at the camp and inquired about the available testing, treatment, and other health facilities.

The unique feature of the mega health camp is that residents of the district do not have to travel to major cities for specialist medical consultation. Specialist doctors from various hospitals across the state, including Raipur, are examining patients in Chirmiri and providing necessary consultation and treatment. Various
specialist doctors, including Dr. Ashwini Raut, Cardiologist, SMC Hospital Raipur; Dr. Umesh Chandra, Neurologist; Dr. Hemlata and Dr. Kalpana, Balco Hospital Raipur; Dr. Manoj Gupta, Cardiologist, Narayana Hospital Raipur; Dr. Javed Parvez, Dr. Karan Sarafa, Dr. Bhuvan Sharma, Urologist; Dr. Rakesh, Pediatrics; Dr. Amit Jain, Urology; Dr. Abhishek Tripathi, Orthopedic; and Dr. Sandeep Agarwal, Urologist, are providing services.
In addition, citizens are benefiting from various specialist services, including gastroenterology, cancer, urology, surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, medicine, dentistry, physiotherapy, ophthalmology, dermatology, and ENT.
- Facility ranging from cancer check-up to artificial limbs
Collector Ms. Santan Devi Jangde informed that Seva Sankalp Abhiyan is being organized from 17th September to 17th October. This mega health camp has been organized in Chirmiri under this campaign. Services of specialist doctors of BALCO Cancer Institute are also available in the camp. Registration is being done for providing artificial limbs to the needy beneficiaries. She appealed to the citizens coming from rural areas to get themselves health checked and also inform their family and people around them about the camp. She also appealed to the citizens to become aware about organ donation and take a pledge for organ donation.

He urged those with limb-related problems, low vision, or eye-related issues to attend the camp for examination and treatment by specialized doctors. Specialist doctors have been brought in from various hospitals across the state, including Raipur, providing specialized healthcare services to the district’s residents in their own area.
He stated that the camp aims to examine and treat 10,000 people. Registration of needy beneficiaries with limb and limb issues is also underway. The Health Minister stated that at the very beginning of the program, five people pledged to donate their eyes, ten to donate their organs, and three to donate their bodies. He appealed to the district’s residents to join this humanitarian initiative.
The Health Minister stated that efforts are being made at the government level to provide better treatment to needy patients suffering from serious illnesses such as liver, kidney, and cancer. Efforts will be made to provide treatment facilities in various hospitals across the country as needed. He added that a mental hospital will soon be opened in the district, for which arrangements for doctors have already been made.
- Beneficiaries received support material, 8 dead body freezers handed over to the health department.
During the programme, Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal provided walking stick, hearing aid, Ayushman card and nutritious food to the beneficiaries under TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. Along with this, 8 dead body freezers were handed over to MCB Health Department.
Specialist doctors who had come from different areas of the state including Raipur to the mega health camp were honoured by the Health Minister by presenting them mementoes. He informed that the camp will not be organised on 2nd October. After this, the relevant kits will be distributed to the eligible beneficiaries as per their requirement.
- Pledge for a Drug-Free India, Health Minister Administers Pledge
During the event, Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal administered the pledge to abstain from drugs to those present as part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan and Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. He urged citizens to abstain from drugs themselves and contribute to making their families, society, and country drug-free.
