Youth to Receive Industry-Aligned Training; New Employment Avenues to Open

The Chhattisgarh government is continuously working to provide better employment opportunities for the state’s youth and to equip them with skills that meet the evolving needs of the industry. The state government aims to empower youth beyond mere academic qualifications by providing them with modern technology, practical training, and job-oriented skills. With this objective, and under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and the guidance of the Minister for Skill Development, Technical Education, and Employment, Shri Guru Khushwant Saheb, the department has undertaken significant initiatives. These include signing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with reputed industrial and training organizations, introducing new courses in technical education, and improving the quality of training institutes.

  • MoUs with Four Organizations to Provide Better Training for Youth

During the closing ceremony of the two-day State-Level Job Fair 2026, the Department of Skill Development, Technical Education, and Employment initiated MoUs with four organizations to enhance the employability of the youth. Through these agreements, students will receive training aligned with actual industry requirements, thereby facilitating their access to employment.

Specialized training will be provided to engineering college students in collaboration with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). This training will be offered free of cost as part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities. This initiative will enable students to gain knowledge of modern technologies and practical skills utilized in the industry. Similarly, industry-oriented training will be provided to students from ITIs, polytechnics, and engineering colleges with the support of the Adani Group. This initiative will enable students to develop technical proficiency while also opening up new employment opportunities in the industrial sector.

To enhance students’ personality development and employability, training in soft skills, English communication, interview preparation, and personality development is being conducted in collaboration with the Naandi Foundation. Last year, over 6,000 students were trained through this organization. This year, too, students associated with ITIs, polytechnics, and skill development programs will receive approximately 48 to 50 hours of training.

Additionally, initiatives are underway to sign MoUs with various organizations to provide skill training related to diverse trades at the Jungle Safari. This will offer youth opportunities to gain practical training across various fields.

  • Special Initiative to Improve Quality of Education in Polytechnic Institutes

A third-party assessment has been conducted through the Quality Council of India to improve the quality of education and training in the state’s polytechnic colleges. This assessment evaluated the institutes’ academic standards, training systems, available infrastructure, and other essential facilities. The assessment report was released during the closing ceremony of the job fair by Chief Minister Shri Sai, Technical Education Minister Shri Saheb, Revenue Minister Shri Tankram Verma, and other dignitaries. The report offers significant suggestions for enhancing the quality of the institutes and making the training systems more effective. An action plan for the development and modernization of polytechnic colleges will be formulated based on these suggestions, ensuring a better academic environment and quality technical training for students.

  • Modern Technology-Based, Job-Oriented Courses to be Launched in ITIs and Polytechnics

The state government is placing special emphasis on developing technical education to align with the current and future requirements of the industry. In this context, old and obsolete curricula at ITI and polytechnic institutes are being reviewed, and new, employment-oriented courses are being introduced. These include courses related to Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and modern technologies. Through these courses, students will gain knowledge of new technologies and acquire practical skills, enabling them to capitalize on emerging employment opportunities within the evolving industrial landscape.

  • Plans to Develop the Digital Employment Portal into a ‘Skill Market’

The Department of Skill Development, Technical Education, and Employment is also working towards transforming the digital employment portal into a ‘Skill Market’ for the future. The plan is to consolidate information regarding industrial requirements, job vacancies across various sectors, and details of youths seeking employment onto a single platform.

  • A Significant Step Towards Making Chhattisgarh’s Youth Self-Reliant and Economically Empowered

Through this systemYouth will be able to apply online based on their qualifications and skills, while industries and recruiting organizations will be able to select trained candidates suited to their requirements. This will make the employment process simpler, more transparent, and more effective. This initiative by the state government will not only improve the quality of technical education and skill training in the state but also create new employment opportunities for the youth. Significant progress will be made towards making the youth of Chhattisgarh self-reliant and economically empowered through better coordination with industries, modern curricula, digital employment services, and quality training.
