  • The ₹32,000 received through 32 installments of the ‘Mahtari Vandan Yojana’ has boosted her self-confidence and paved the way toward financial independence.

The Chhattisgarh government’s ‘Mahtari Vandan Yojana’ is instilling new hope for economic security, self-confidence, and self-reliance in the lives of women. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, this scheme provides a monthly financial assistance of ₹1,000, which not only helps women meet their household needs but also enables them to start their own small-scale businesses and save for a better future for their children. Smt. Premin Verma, a resident of village Ufra in the Berla block of Bemetara district, serves as an inspiring example of this. By making effective use of the funds received through the scheme, she purchased a sewing machine and launched her own venture. Furthermore, she is also consistently saving for her daughter’s bright future.

Smt. Premin Verma shares that due to her family’s weak financial condition, she had to face numerous hardships. Meeting daily household needs with a limited income was a major challenge. As a mother, her greatest concern was her daughter’s education and future. She wished for her daughter to receive a quality education, ensuring that financial constraints would not become an obstacle to her dreams. However, given the family’s limited income, saving for the future had been difficult.

In such challenging times, the ‘Mahtari Vandan Yojana’ emerged as a new ray of hope in her life. Under the scheme, she began receiving financial assistance of ₹1,000 every month. To date, Premin has received a total of ₹32,000 through 32 installments. Instead of limiting the use of these funds solely to household expenses, she decided to utilize them to strengthen the family’s financial position and secure her daughter’s future.

  • A sewing machine opens new avenues for self-employment

By saving the funds received through the ‘Mahtari Vandan Yojana’, Premin Verma purchased a sewing machine. For her, this machine is not merely a means of livelihood, but a tool to realize her dream of becoming self-reliant. She now earns an income by doing tailoring work from home, contributing to meeting her family’s financial needs.

Premin shares that, in the past, she used to struggle even to meet minor financial requirements; however, earning an income through her own hard work has boosted her self-confidence. Tailoring has provided her with an opportunity to recognize her own potential and take an active role in managing her family’s financial responsibilities.

  • Saving Rs 500 every month for her daughter’s future

Alongside pursuing self-employment, Premin has also prioritized her daughter’s future. Out of the Rs 1,000 she receives monthly under the ‘Mahtari Vandan Yojana’, she deposits Rs 500 into her daughter’s ‘Sukanya Samriddhi’ account. Her goal is to ensure there are sufficient savings for her daughter’s higher education and other future needs.

Premin believes that small, regular savings can become a significant source of support in the future. Today, she is building a financial foundation to help fulfill her daughter’s dreams. Her initiative demonstrates that the planned use of financial assistance can empower women to address both their present needs and their future responsibilities.

  • Financial support provides the strength to live with self-confidence and dignity

Smt. Premin Verma mentions that she previously lived in constant worry due to financial hardships and concerns about her daughter’s future; however, the ‘Mahtari Vandan Yojana’ has brought a positive transformation to her life. Now, she is not only able to save regularly but is also contributing to increasing her family’s income through her own employment. She says that for her, a sewing machine is not just a machine, but a source of hope for becoming self-reliant. The assistance received through the ‘Mahtari Vandan Yojana’ has given her the encouragement to save money and start her own venture. Now, she is also able to set aside funds for her daughter’s better future.
