- Women’s self-reliance is getting a boost under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, Savita became an inspiration for other women of the village
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, the Chhattisgarh government is continuously striving to empower women economically and make them self-reliant. Self-employment opportunities are being provided to rural women through central and state government welfare schemes. Through these schemes, women are not only strengthening their livelihoods but also making significant contributions to the well-being of their families and a bright future for their children. Mrs. Savita Rajak of Chhedar village, Duldula development block, Jashpur district, is one such inspiring example. With the support of the Bihan Yojana and the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, she has made goat rearing a strong basis for her livelihood.
- Coming
from a rural family, Mrs. Savita Rajak always had a desire to improve her family’s financial situation and provide a good education for her children. Meeting her family’s needs was challenging due to limited financial resources, but instead of giving up in the face of circumstances, she resolved to do something for herself. To fulfill this commitment, she joined the Mahila Gram Sangathan under the National Rural Livelihood Mission (Bihar) and took steps towards self-employment.
After joining the Mahila Gram Sangathan, she received financial assistance of ₹50,000 from the organization and a loan of ₹100,000 under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMUDRA). With this financial support of ₹150,000, she started a goat rearing business. Through her hard work, dedication, and excellent management, she turned this business into a source of income.
- A monthly income of ₹10,000 from goat rearing has brought positive changes to her family’s life.

Mrs. Savita Rajak now earns approximately ₹10,000 per month from goat rearing. Once concerned with meeting her family’s financial needs, Savita now uses her hard-earned money to support her children’s education and household needs. The financial strength gained from self-employment has boosted her self-confidence. She is also striving to expand her business and create better income opportunities in the future.
Mrs. Savita explains that the Bihan Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana gave her the opportunity to start her own business. The assistance provided by these schemes has played a crucial role in realizing her dream of self-reliance. Expressing gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai and the state government, she said that government schemes are providing rural women with opportunities to advance and strengthen their families’ financial standing.
- Ujjwala, Pradhan Mantri Awas, and Mahatari Vandan Yojana are also improving family life.
Along with self-employment, Mrs. Savita Rajak’s family is also benefiting from other government welfare schemes. A gas cylinder under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana has made cooking easier. A permanent house through the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has provided the family with safe and secure housing. They also receive financial assistance of 1,000 rupees per month under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana. The
combined benefits of these schemes are bringing positive changes to the family’s life. Goat rearing has provided a steady source of income, while housing, cooking gas, and financial assistance have helped meet the family’s basic needs.
- Savita has become an example of rural women’s empowerment
Mrs. Savita Rajak’s success proves that with the right opportunity, financial support, and determination, rural women can also become successful entrepreneurs. The strengthening of women’s groups through the Bihan Yojana and the financial assistance available for self-employment through the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana are giving a new direction to the rural economy.
Today, Savita has not only become the foundation of her family’s financial strength but also an inspiration for other women in the village. Her success sends a message that self-reliance can begin with small efforts. By combining government programs with their own hard work, women can fulfill their dreams and play a vital role in the progress of their families and society.
