Health and nutrition camps organised in Amakona (Shankargarh) and Champanagar (Kusmi).

  • Villagers received first aid on the spot from the mobile medical unit

With the aim of providing health and nutrition services to the villagers of remote forest areas, camps were organized under the Health and Nutrition Service Confluence at the Multipurpose Center Amakona in Shankargarh, an aspirational development block in Balrampur Ramanujganj district, and at the Multipurpose Center Champanagar in Kusmi development block. Children, pregnant women, and lactating mothers especially benefited from medical services at these camps.

At the Amakona Multipurpose Center in the village of Podikhurd in the PM Janman Nidhi area, a mobile medical unit operated under the PM Janman Nidhi Yojana brought health services directly to the villagers’ doorsteps. The unit measured blood pressure, checked sugar levels, and collected blood samples for further testing. Those in need also received first aid and counseling on the spot. Saving time and distance from hospital travel, villagers took advantage of these services in large numbers.
Forty-two women and 30 children participated in the camp. Their nutritional status was assessed by measuring the weight and height of all children, and parents were counseled for their optimal development. Nutrition kits were distributed to 15 eligible beneficiaries of supplementary nutrition. Villagers were also educated about the causes and prevention of malnutrition, maternal nutrition, infant feeding, and early childhood care.
