Due to the efforts of Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, approval was given for construction of road-bridge in Odgi.

  • A 1.50 kilometer road will be constructed from Khalbahara Main Road to Panchayat Bhawan.
  • Administrative approval of Rs 1 crore 65 lakh 85 thousand

An important initiative has been taken to improve road connectivity in the Khalbahara Gram Panchayat of the Odgi development block in Surajpur district. Through the efforts of Women and Child Development Minister and Bhatgaon MLA, Mrs. Laxmi Rajwade, construction of a 1.50-kilometer-long road, including bridges and culverts, from the Khalbahara main road to the Panchayat Bhawan has been approved. The Public Works Department has granted administrative approval for this work, amounting to ₹16.585 million.

The construction of this road will facilitate villagers’ access to the Panchayat Bhawan. The Panchayat Bhawan is a primary center for villagers to conduct various local functions and meetings. The road will facilitate access and provide convenience to residents of the area for their daily needs. Bridges and culverts are also proposed to be constructed along the route, which will help improve road connectivity.

The state government has granted this approval for works included in the budget for the year 2025-26. According to the approval order, prescribed procedures, including technical approval and tendering, will be completed before construction can begin. Furthermore, the work will be carried out on government land and within the available budget.

Expanding road connectivity in rural areas plays a vital role in improving local transportation and access to public facilities. The construction work approved in Khalbahara is an important step in this direction. Upon completion, villagers will have access to the Panchayat Bhawan via a better road.
