Two-day safe driving course concludes

  • An event was organized at PTRI with the aim of reducing road accidents.

Under the direction of Additional Director General of Police, Mr. Mohammad Hamid Shahid Absar, the Police Transport Research Institute (PTRI) organized a two-day training session on safe driving for officers/employees from the rank of Inspector (Driver) to Constable (Driver) with the aim of reducing road accidents and fatalities in Madhya Pradesh. The objective is to provide a safe road network to road users, prioritizing pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers, and to achieve the goal of reducing the number of road accidents and fatalities in the future. Road safety is recognized as an integral part of basic traffic services.

At the beginning of the training session, Deputy Inspector General of Police, PTRI, Shri T.K. Vidyarthi, presented the main principles of “4-E” such as Education, Engineering, Enforcement and Emergency Care, and the severity of road accidents to the trainees. He made the constable drivers aware of their responsibility as the backbone of the department from the road safety point of view. During this, Assistant Inspector General of Police, PTRI, Shri Abhijeet Kumar Ranjan, Shri Rajesh Mishra, Shri Vikram Raghuvanshi, Deputy Inspector General, Shri Himanshu Kartikeya and other officers of the training team were also present.

In this session, keeping in mind safe driving, on the first day of the course, expert lecturer from Police ITI, Mr. Lokesh Kumar Rathore, provided information on Advanced Technology and Vehicle Systems. Retired Sub-Inspector Mr. Rashid Khan, ITI Training Officer, also explained the intricacies of driving safety and related precautions and satisfied the trainees by providing factual answers to their questions during the lecture.

A lecture on the use of VIP security-related signals and performing duties during the motorcade was delivered by Deputy Inspector General Mr. Harsh Sharma. Following this, expert Mr. Rajan B. Laxman provided information on daily vehicle maintenance. At the conclusion of the course, Deputy Inspector General of Police (PTRI) Mr. T.K. Vidyarthi presented the trainees with certificates and best wishes for a bright future.
