Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai inaugurated Siyan Gudi: Boosted the morale of the senior citizens by playing carrom with them.

  • Daycare Centre for Senior Citizens: Yoga, Fitness, Entertainment and Skill Development all under one roof

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today inaugurated “Siyan Gudi,” a state-of-the-art day care center for senior citizens in Jashpur. On this occasion, he played carrom with the elderly, boosting their morale and establishing cordial conversations. The senior citizens were delighted to have the Chief Minister among them and expressed their gratitude for the “Siyan Gudi” developed by the state government.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai distributed food baskets to the elderly on this occasion and honored them by presenting them with religious books, shawls, and coconuts. Underlining the state government’s commitment to respecting and caring for senior citizens in society, he said that Chhattisgarh is known for its rich cultural traditions and family values, but today society is rapidly changing. Due to the increasing trend of nuclear families, migration of youth for employment, and busy lifestyles, many elderly people are facing loneliness and neglect during the day. He said that this loneliness has a negative impact not only on emotional but also on mental and physical health.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the “Day Care Center – Siyan Gudi” has been envisioned to address these challenges. This building will serve as a powerful center of respect, intimacy, and activity for senior citizens, where they can spend their days in a safe environment, rejuvenating and rejuvenating. Inspecting the center, the Chief Minister praised the facilities available and called it an ideal initiative for senior citizens.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma said that through ‘Siyan Gudi’ the State Government has taken an important step towards making the lives of senior citizens more dignified, active and happy, which will strengthen social harmony and also provide new energy to family values.

It is noteworthy that the “Siyan Gudi” center, located on Bhagalpur Road behind the Ranjita Stadium in Jashpur, has been developed as a comprehensive daycare unit for senior citizens, with the primary objective of providing them with a single, multifaceted service. Facilities for yoga, pranayama, recreation, cultural and community activities, digital and financial literacy, and skill development training will be provided here. Primary health checkups, availability of basic medicines, teleconsultations, health awareness sessions, physiotherapy, and exercise are also provided.
The center will also provide legal and family counseling to senior citizens. In cases of neglect or abuse, immediate assistance will be provided through the national helpline number 14567 and the state-level “Siyan Gudi” number 155326. In terms of facilities, “Siyan Gudi” has been upgraded, offering a barrier-free environment, wheelchair access, comfortable seating, gender-separated and disabled-friendly toilets, a spacious hall for group activities, a library, and a quiet reading corner. In addition, TV, radio, CCTV, biometric attendance system, primary health check-up desk, monthly medical consultation, physiotherapy corner and telemedicine facility have also been made available.
Various programs related to yoga, exercise, tea-snacks, meals, entertainment, life skills and re-skilling training, health check-ups, cultural programs, group discussions and legal and social awareness will be conducted for senior citizens for 6 to 8 hours daily at this center. 

On this occasion, Chairman Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Board Shri Rampratap Singh, MLA Pathalgaon Smt. Gomti Sai, Jashpur MLA Smt. Raimuni Bhagat, Municipal Council Vice President Shri Yash Pratap Singh Judev, Shri Prabal Pratap Singh Judev, Commissioner of Surguja Division Shri Narendra Dugga, Police Commissioner Shri Deepak Kumar Jha, Collector Shri Rohit Vyas, Senior Superintendent of Police Shri Lal Umed Singh along with other public representatives and senior citizens were present.
