The ‘e-Office’ system in Chhattisgarh has ushered in a new dawn of good governance by bringing transparency, speed, and accountability to government work. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, this digital initiative is a revolutionary step towards zero tolerance for corruption and simplifying government processes. Digitizing files virtually eliminates the scope for falsification, bringing transparency to governance. Time spent physically transporting paper files is also saved, leading to faster file movement and quicker decision-making.
Digital technology today is not limited to the exchange of information; it is also giving a new dimension to the functioning of governance. Realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India vision and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai’s commitment to good governance, transparency, and accountability, the e-Office system has become an essential part of the administrative system in the state.
- From piles of files to digital speed

The landscape of government offices in Chhattisgarh is changing. The era when piles of dusty files and snail-paced processes were considered normal is over. Digital files have not only accelerated work but also ensured transparency throughout the process.
- Sakti district topped
The state has set new standards in digital governance through the effective implementation of the e-office system. More than 87,222 officers and employees of the state have joined this digital platform through a comprehensive network. To date, more than 546,903 files have been successfully digitally processed. As of April 30, 2026, Sakti, the 33rd district of the state, leads the state with 15,735 files digitally processed.
- Key Benefits of e-Office
With the online file tracking facility, it is now easy to know which file is pending with which officer for how long. This has increased accountability towards work. Efficient decision making process: The speedy movement of files from the secretariat to the district level has made the decision-making process systematic and timely. By drastically reducing the use of paper, this system is making a major contribution towards environmental protection. Due to digital storage, the fear of documents getting torn, lost or damaged has ended and the problem of storage has also been solved.
- Training and technical strength

The success of any innovation depends on its users. To this end, the state government has organized phased training programs for officials and employees. Teams from NIC and CHiPS are playing a key role in technically strengthening this system.
- The way forward: a fully digital administration
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, Chhattisgarh aims to conduct 100% of all government correspondence through e-office in the near future. This change is not merely a technological improvement, but a concrete step towards citizen-centric administration. The office has proven that proper integration of technology can make administration effective and people-oriented. This Chhattisgarh model is poised to write a new and modern definition of good governance in the future.
