Good Governance Festival 2026, organized to ensure the reach of government schemes to the last person, is proving to be a milestone in Dhamtari district, as per the Chhattisgarh government’s vision. Villagers witnessed tremendous enthusiasm at the cluster-level solution camps held in the district’s Kurud and Magarlod development blocks. Of the 1,070 applications received at these camps, held in Belargaon and Megha, most were resolved on the spot.
“Belargaon Camp: Immediate Resolution of Demands of 12 Panchayats”
Villagers from 12 Panchayats participated in the camp organized in Belargaon Gram Panchayat of Kurud Development Block. The promptness of the administration can be gauged from the fact that out of 393 applications received here, 384 were resolved on the spot. Nutrition kits were distributed by the Women and Child Development Department, equipment kits by the Education Department and Ayushman cards by the Health Department in the camp. Special food baskets were also provided to TB patients.
- ‘Speedy action on complaints and demands’
Villagers from more than 18 gram panchayats reached the Megha Cluster Camp in Magarlod block with their problems. Of the 677 applications received (667 demands and 10 complaints), 515 were resolved immediately. Seven new ration cards, walkers for the disabled, and three pension approval orders were issued at the camp. MNREGA job cards, labor cards, and 10 driving licenses were also provided on the spot. The health department conducted sickle cell tests on 60 people and distributed Ayushman Vaya Vandan cards to eight elderly people.
District presidents, district panchayat members, and local sarpanches actively participated in the “Joint Effort of Public Representatives and Administration”
camps, inspecting various departmental stalls. Public representatives interacted directly with villagers, listening to their problems, and directed their prompt resolution. Officials clarified that pending applications would also be resolved within a timeframe, so that the concept of good governance could be fully realized on the ground.
