Governor Shri Deka took initiative to make Gajraj Dam useful for drinking water supply of the city.

Governor Shri Ramen Deka has initiated the development of the Gajraj Dam, located in Kamal Vihar, Raipur, spanning approximately 230 acres, into a large reservoir to meet the drinking water needs of Raipur city. The Governor held a special discussion in this regard with Raipur Municipal Corporation Mayor Mrs. Meenal Choubey and Additional Commissioner Shri Vinod Pandey at Lok Bhavan today. 
The Governor stated that the Gajraj Dam, currently unused for irrigation purposes, could be transformed into a lifeline for Raipur city by carrying out necessary repairs. Developing this dam as a drinking water reservoir will help provide the city with pure and adequate drinking water.  
The Governor directed the Mayor to coordinate with the officials of the concerned department and proceed in this direction.
