The timely availability of agricultural inputs (fertilizers and seeds) makes the path of farmers very easy. This not only increases productivity but also reduces agricultural costs and hard work. The direct impact of the farmer-friendly policies of the Chhattisgarh government and the promptness of the district administration is now visible in the fields of the state. With the beginning of the Kharif season, smiles have started appearing on the faces of the farmers in the rice bowl. An example of this was seen in the village Dandavan of Narayanpur district, where the timely availability of agricultural inputs (fertilizers and seeds) has made the path of farmers very easy.
Timely support, preparations accelerated
Rudreshwar Chauhan, a progressive farmer from village Dandavan, has about 5 acres of agricultural land, where he cultivates paddy and other Kharif crops every year by combining traditional and scientific methods. This year, with the arrival of monsoon, Rudreshwar has been provided with improved seeds and adequate quantity of fertilizers as per his requirement on time. Encouraged by this timely support, Rudreshwar is now fully engaged in preparing his fields and sowing with full energy.
Encouragement boosted by previous record: Sold 85 quintals of paddy
Rudreshwar Chauhan is not just an ordinary farmer, but also a source of inspiration for other farmers in the area. He said, “Last season, through proper agricultural management and hard work, I produced a record 85 quintals of paddy. When I sold this produce under better arrangements, the good income I received changed the fortunes of my entire family and doubled my enthusiasm for farming.” Rudreshwar believes that this time, due to timely availability of fertilizers and seeds, the sowing work will be completed smoothly without any interruption, which is why all previous production records are expected to be broken this year. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the government and district administration for this robust system.
Lower costs, higher profits:
The Chhattisgarh government’s Agriculture Department is working on the ground with a very aggressive and positive strategy this time. The department’s main focus is on distributing high-quality seeds to farmers, to increase crop resistance and improve yields. Additionally, advance availability of fertilizers is being ensured so that farmers don’t have to visit societies when needed. On the other hand, through training in modern techniques, farmers are being connected to traditional farming methods as well as scientific methods, reducing their input costs and increasing their net profits.
These government efforts have sparked immense enthusiasm among farmers across the region, including the village of Dandavan. Rudreshwar Chauhan’s story isn’t just about one farmer, but about the changing landscape of the entire region. With the uninterrupted supply of fertilizer and seeds on time, plows are already in operation, and preparations for sowing are in full swing. Chhattisgarh’s farmers have once again taken to their fields to replenish the nation’s food reserves, hoping for a bright and prosperous future.
