- The growing demand for electricity will be addressed; consumers will get uninterrupted power supply.
Under the direction of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, the Kunkuri area of Jashpur district has received a significant gift as part of the strengthening of power infrastructure in the state. A new 5 MVA power transformer has been successfully installed and commissioned in place of the old 3.15 MVA power transformer at the 33/11 kV power substation in Kunkuri. Additionally, the construction of an additional 11 kV feeder for the city area and the commencement of power supply have also been completed.
The department made extensive technical preparations for the installation of the new transformer. Two DPs were relocated to provide the necessary space at the site, the unused control room was removed, and the old transformer plinth was repaired and strengthened. After completing all technical procedures, the transformer replacement was successfully completed.

According to electricity department officials, the increase in transformer capacity will help meet the region’s growing electricity demand. The commissioning of the new 11 kV feeder will enable better distribution of electrical load, reducing overloading and ensuring a more smooth and uninterrupted power supply to consumers.
This upgrade, initiated by Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, is being considered a significant achievement in the development of the area and the expansion of public amenities. Local citizens and electricity consumers have welcomed this initiative, calling it a historic step to strengthen Kunkuri’s power system.
