New hope for prosperity in every courtyard: Comprehensive Dairy Development Scheme transforming rural economy

  • Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam handed over milch cows to 13 cattle rearers, said that animal husbandry will become the biggest strength of self-reliant villages.

The state government’s comprehensive dairy development plan is proving effective in writing a new story of self-reliance and economic prosperity in the rural areas of Chhattisgarh. In this connection, at a program organized in village Pachawal of development block Ramchandrapur, Minister of Agriculture Development and Farmers Welfare, Biotechnology, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, Shri Ramvichar Netam distributed one milch cow, silage animal feed and mineral mixture to 13 selected animal herders, instilling new hope in their lives.

On this occasion, Minister Shri Netam stated that the government’s objective is not only to provide livestock, but also to connect rural families with sustainable livelihoods and economic self-reliance. He added that animal husbandry has become a strong source of respectable and sustainable employment for farmers and rural families, not just additional income.

  • Now every section will get the benefit of the scheme

Minister Netam explained that previously, the benefits of the Dairy Cattle Supply Scheme were limited to the tribal community, but under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, the state government has expanded it to all sectors. This will enable more rural families to join the dairy business and strengthen their economic status.

  • Not just one cow, but the future of the entire family

He said that under the Comprehensive Dairy Development Scheme, beneficiaries are being provided not only with milch cows but also with all the facilities necessary for successful dairy operations. The scheme also provides silage, balanced animal feed, mineral mixtures, one-year animal insurance, animal monitoring equipment, and training in scientific animal husbandry, so that animal farmers can adopt modern techniques to increase production and earn better income.

  • Healthy livestock is the foundation of a prosperous dairy

Minister Shri Netam praised the Veterinary Department’s regular vaccination, treatment, and disease control programs in the district, stating that healthy livestock is the greatest asset for dairy development. He urged livestock farmers to get timely vaccinations to prevent seasonal diseases and to adopt scientific animal husbandry practices. He also provided detailed information on the use and benefits of silage.

  • Rural economy will get a new impetus

Through the Comprehensive Dairy Development Scheme, operated in collaboration with the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) Dairy Services, selected beneficiaries are being connected to the dairy business by providing grants and financial assistance. Additionally, the rural economy is being given a new direction by developing a strong milk collection and marketing system. A large number of families in the district are benefiting from this scheme and moving towards self-employment.

  • Rural families moving towards self-reliance

The joy on the faces of the beneficiaries who received milch cows in village Pachawal was proof that when government schemes reach the right hands, they not only provide assistance but also give a new direction to the future of the entire family. A milch cow will now become a new basis for regular income, better education for children, economic participation of women, and self-respect for these families. The Comprehensive Dairy Development Scheme is seen writing a new chapter of prosperity, self-confidence, and happiness in rural life. NDDB Zonal Officer Dr. R.H. Pandey, officers and employees of the Veterinary Department, public representatives, local villagers, and a large number of animal herders were present at the program.
