- When the administration itself reached the doorstep of the innocent, the Aadhaar hurdle was removed.
The real objective of e-Governance is to establish good governance, transparency and efficiency by using information and communication technology. Its real purpose is to simplify government services through technology, so that the life of the last person can be made easy, empowered and safe. When government schemes come out of files and reach the doorsteps of the needy, it becomes not just an administrative task, but a beautiful example of human compassion. The Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district administration has recently shown some such sensitivity, where the Aadhar card of an innocent child struggling with many restrictions and difficult circumstances was made by reaching his home.
- Difficult circumstances and identity crisis
As part of a special government campaign, a child was identified who, despite being over 5 years old, had not been enrolled in Aadhaar. This child’s family was going through a very difficult time. The child’s mother is mentally ill, and the father had long ago left the family. The caring family visited several Aadhaar centers in Bilaigarh, Bhatgaon, Sarsiva, and Sarangarh, but due to special family circumstances, it was impossible to take the child to the center and complete the process.
- Home service, solution in minutes
When the matter came to the attention of the district administration, the Collector took it very seriously and ordered immediate action. Following this, the e-District Manager (EDM) team immediately swung into action. Following the instructions, Aadhaar operators arrived directly at the child’s home with the necessary biometric devices. The entire Aadhaar enrolment process was completed without delay, in a sensitive and completely free manner, right at the child’s home. E-governance (electronic governance) refers to the use of information and communication technology (ICT) to provide government services, information, and communication facilities to citizens and businesses. Its primary objective is to make governance “SMART” (simple, ethical, accountable, responsive, and transparent) and reduce corruption.
- Open the way for government schemes
With this single document, the path is now clear for this child to benefit from all future government, social, and educational welfare schemes. Overwhelmed by this sensitive initiative, applicants Sumat Ram Banjare and Sumitra Kumari Ghritalhare expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the administration. Emotionally, they said, “When we were exhausted and exhausted, the administration stepped in and took care of our child. We will never forget this humanitarian gesture by the Collector, EDM, and operator. This is not just a card, it is a symbol of our child’s secure future.” This prompt and sensitive approach by the district administration proves that the true purpose of e-governance is to make life easier and safer for the last mile through technology.”
