Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that Indian culture embodies the spirit of generosity towards nature and all wildlife. The vehicles of our gods and goddesses also connect with different souls. The king of the jungle, the tiger, is the vehicle of Shakti, the goddess Maa Durga. Many important works have been done in the direction of conservation of other wildlife including tigers, cheetahs, gharials, elephants and wild buffaloes in the region. As a result of this, the population of tigers in the region is increasing rapidly and Madhya Pradesh has achieved the status of Tiger State. 53 years ago, the number of tigers in the region was limited to tens of figures. In the year 2016, the number of tigers increased to around 250. In the calculation of the year 2022, there are 785 tigers in the region. The number of tigers is estimated to be more than 1000 in the new census next year. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the golden era of rich biological heritage in Madhya Pradesh is continuing. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the state level program organized on International Tiger Day at Kushabhau Thackeray Auditorium.
- Release of book focusing on grass species of Kanha area
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inaugurated the state level program by lighting the lamp. He inaugurated and inspected the exhibition focusing on wildlife conservation activities. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also inaugurated the vehicles received for wildlife conservation. In the program, the students of the school college presented a dance drama focusing on tiger conservation. Chief Minister Dr. Among the departmental publications, Yadav released Fluttering Jewels of Satpura, a book on Butterflies of Satpura, book on Grass Species of Kanha Region, Pictorial Herbarium of Kanha Grasses, Wildlife Rescue Collection, Best Practices of Wild Life Conservation in Madhya Pradesh and Biodiversity of Wild Mushrooms in Pench Tiger Reserve etc. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also released the logos of Ratapani Tiger Reserve and Veerangana Durgavati Tiger Reserve.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav released the teasers of a newsreel focusing on reintroduction of bears in Satpura Tiger Reserve and a newsreel focusing on tiger rewilding in Kanha Tiger Reserve. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav honored the members of the State Wildlife Board with the Padma Shri Award. Congratulated Narayan Vyas and Shri Mohan Nagar. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also presented awards to Forest Security Committees, Eco Development Committees, Village Forest Committees and Forest Personnel for their outstanding work in the field of wildlife conservation. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav participated in the campaign ‘Ek Jan-Ek Patti – Janbhagidari, Sankaran Ki Shakti’ initiated by Veerangana Durgavati Tiger Reserve to encourage public participation. Under it, he carved a tiger’s face on a leaf-shaped ceramic tile. In this way the tiles are baked and developed into different colors. These tiles will be used to decorate the Hinoti tourism gate of Veerangana Durgavati Tiger Reserve. This activity will symbolize collective commitment towards forest and wildlife conservation through public participation. Chief Minister Dr. Artists of Pench Tiger Reserve presented a kadaidar shawl to Yadav.
- Important efforts towards protection of alligators
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav extended greetings on International Tiger Day and Guru Purnima. He said that Madhya Pradesh has a unique identity in the country due to its successful efforts and unwavering commitment in the field of tiger conservation. Tigers are symbols of our rich forests, biodiversity and ecological balance. The state government is committed to nature and wildlife conservation through public participation. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Chambal is the cleanest water river in Asia. Significant efforts have been made here in the direction of alligator protection. Alligators have also been released into the rivers of some areas. In Madhya Pradesh, wild buffaloes, which became extinct 100 years ago, have been successfully rehabilitated.
- Modern technology and innovative efforts have freed elephants from the crisis
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that until two years ago, there were alarming messages due to elephants. The Forest Department has relieved the elephants from the menace through modern technology and innovative efforts. Rhinos will also be introduced in the region very soon. He said that Madhya Pradesh has inherited rich biodiversity. The Forest Department has provided new heights in wildlife protection to the region by joining the forest societies, local villagers with its officers-employees in forest management.
- 28 lakh wildlife tourists visit the region every year
Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Wildlife Smt. Samita Rajoura said that International Tiger Day is being celebrated on July 29 continuously since 2011 after the resolution taken in Russia. Madhya Pradesh has played an important role in the conservation of tigers. The state government is moving forward with a pledge to protect all wildlife. The state receives 28 lakh wildlife tourists every year, including 1 lakh foreigners. Various activities related to tiger conservation are currently being conducted in all the 9 tiger reserves of the state. Forest societies and local people also have a special contribution in the tiger conservation campaign. Chief Minister Dr. Under the leadership of Yadav, Madhya Pradesh is protecting all wild life including tigers. If the tiger survives, our forest will survive.

Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief of Forest Force Mr. Subhranjan Sen said that Madhya Pradesh is a Tiger State. The region has a glorious history of tiger and wildlife conservation. Madhya Pradesh is now Cheetah State and Leopard State too. Chief Minister Dr. Under the leadership of Yadav, many important steps have been taken in the direction of protection of wild life. He has also established a new tiger reserve and the only conservation reserve of the region. The name of Madhya Pradesh in wildlife protection is shining in the country and the world. Principal Secretary Forest Shri Raghavendra Singh, officers and staff of Forest Department, members of Forest Committees and a large number of students and people interested in forest and wildlife were present in the programme.
