New Nature Camp Mud Houses have been launched to promote eco-tourism in the Devpur Range, located near the Barnawapara Sanctuary in Chhattisgarh’s Balodabazar district. These houses, traditionally constructed from mud and natural materials, offer visitors a unique and tranquil experience of being close to nature.
To promote eco-tourism, the “Nature Camp Mud House” was inaugurated in the Devpur Forest Range of the Balodabazar Forest Division. This initiative was initiated under the guidance of Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap and the special efforts of Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Shri Arun Kumar Pandey. It will provide new employment opportunities for local villagers. Significantly, the Nature Camp Mud House has been built using natural resources and traditional styles. Visitors will experience a unique experience of being close to nature. The initiative aims to promote eco-friendly tourism and develop sustainable sources of income for local people. The local Forest Management Committee and self-help groups have been involved in the project’s operation.

In this context, a modern reception building was also inaugurated in the tourist village of Barnawapara Wildlife Sanctuary. The Tourism Department has constructed mud house models here. Arrangements have been made to ensure that those staying in these mud houses fully enjoy nature and the rural environment. To promote tourism in Barnawapara, a modern reception building has also been constructed. These facilities and arrangements will increase the income of local residents, improve their standard of living, and reduce unemployment.
This new camp has been developed using local resources and traditional construction styles. Mud houses made from clay, wood, and natural materials are environmentally friendly. These mud houses, which blend seamlessly with the surrounding forest, will attract tourists. The Forest Department’s objective is to promote tourism while minimizing the impact on nature. Through this center, visiting tourists will be provided with information about the sanctuary’s biodiversity, wildlife, and natural heritage. During the program, officials stated that, in accordance with the vision of Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, the Forest Department is prioritizing development projects that balance forest conservation and local development.

Divisional Forest Officer Shri Dhammasheel Ganvir, along with departmental officials, local public representatives, and a large number of villagers were present on the occasion. This initiative will prove to be an important step towards establishing the Devpur area as an important hub in the field of eco-tourism.
