- Governor Shri Deka apprised the defence experts about the specialities of Chhattisgarh, said- Chhattisgarh is a picturesque state with beautiful culture, art and traditions.
A study team from the Defence College (NDC), New Delhi, paid a courtesy call on Governor Shri Ramen Deka today. The 16-member team was visiting Chhattisgarh from March 15th to 20th as part of the Defence College’s Understanding India Study Tour (UIST) on the topic of “National Security and Strategic Studies.” The team met with Governor Shri Deka today on the last day of their visit. The team included senior officers of the Indian Armed Forces, military officers from friendly foreign countries, and some civil service officers. The team visited various tourist destinations in Chhattisgarh, including the Barnawapara Sanctuary, the Tribal Museum, Purkhaiti Muktangan, various waterfalls in Bastar, and the Shilpgram in Kondagaon.
Addressing the team members, Governor Shri Deka said, “Chhattisgarh is a beautiful state. Tell your friends and family about your visit and the beauty of Chhattisgarh so they can also visit as tourists.” He discussed the team’s unique features with the team. He explained that Chhattisgarh is known as the rice bowl and rice varieties have been preserved here. He also discussed Chhattisgarh’s handicrafts, such as Dhokra art, wooden art, and bamboo art. The state is rich in talent, with thousands of software engineers from Chhattisgarh serving in Houston, USA. Furthermore, the North America Chhattisgarh Association (NACHA), an organization of Chhattisgarhi immigrants living in the US, organizes a Swadeshi Mela in the US, showcasing Chhattisgarh’s art, culture, and traditions. He also spoke about promoting renewable energy sources and fostering innovation in the health and education sectors. Mr. Deka also briefed the study team on the Chhattisgarh government’s public welfare policies. The

study team shared their experiences and praised Chhattisgarh’s beauty, culture, art, and traditions. The study team praised the hospitality of Chhattisgarh, saying that the people here are simple and cordial. “We all enjoyed visiting here,” he said. The members of the study team appreciated the public welfare schemes being run in the state like Mahatari Vandan, Krishak Unnati Yojana, Naxal Rehabilitation Policy etc.
