AKONDA & ITS MYTHOLOGICAL IMPORTANCE

The crown flower preferably is the most loved flower by Lord Shiva, as stated in ‘Shiva Purana’. The thriving beauty in the blooming Akondo flower being abloomed, with an ethereal and heavenly aroma that is aesthetically pleasing even to the prime gods such as

Lord Shiva and Lord Ganesha, is astonishing.

But other than being the favorite of the prime lords, Akondo, or the Crown flower has its mythical significance due to its anatomy and its mere creation and for its distinctive color itself.

According to the ‘Shiva Purana’, the madar flower which is also known as the crown flower is used to make garlands for worshiping or puja for its ornamental brilliant color and dainty appearance. It is mainly offered to lord shiva fpr peace stability, and prosperity in society. The Crown flower is also one of the major parts of the nine astrological.

If The root of the Aak plant is used to carve a statue of lord Ganesha and is placed and worshipped regularly, one will be blessed with ‘TRISHUKHA’, or all joys of life. As the root of the crown flower tree belongs to the Ravi pushya star, one can wrap the root of the aak plant in red cloth and keep it clean and in a safe place.
