Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Siddhi Bala Bose Library has played a crucial role in preserving the legacy and memories of 100 glorious years. The Association has safeguarded the art, culture, and historical heritage of the Bengali community and of Jabalpur. Netaji’s own visit to the City Bengali Club was a moment of pride for the region. The City Bengali Club has also done commendable work in the field of girls’ education. The State Government stands firmly with the Club in promoting school and higher education.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the Bengali community has made a significant contribution to India’s cultural prosperity. Great freedom fighter Bankim Chandra Chatterjee united the nation through the composition of Vande Mataram. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the abrogation of Article 370 removed a long-standing stigma from Jammu and Kashmir, which is now emerging as the jewel in the Indian crown. The Chief Minister said that spring is the king of seasons in nature. Extending greetings and best wishes on Basant Panchami on Friday, he said it is a matter of joy and pride that it is also the birth anniversary of Subhas Chandra Bose. Paying homage to Netaji, he said that Netaji played a pivotal role in India’s freedom through the Azad Hind Fauj. With the call “You give me blood, and I will give you freedom,” he connected the common people to the national movement. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the centenary year closing ceremony of the Siddhi Bala Bose Library Association.

  • Bengal’s Crucial Role in India’s Freedom: Union Minister Shri J.P. Nadda

Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers and Health, Shri J. P. Nadda, extended greetings on Basant Panchami and paid homage to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his birth anniversary, recalling that Netaji visited Jabalpur in 1939. He stated that former President Bharat Ratna late Pranab Mukherjee ji was also associated with the City Bengali Club. We must never forget Bengal and its pride, he said, adding that Bengal played a vital role in India’s freedom struggle.

Shri Nadda said that Prime Minister Shri Modi ensured a special discussion in Parliament on the completion of 150 years of Vande Mataram, and that due respect is being accorded to the national anthem Jana Gana Mana. A statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose has been installed at Kartavya Path in Delhi. The Bengali language has been accorded classical language status. Durga Puja has been inscribed by UNESCO, and Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore’s Shantiniketan has also been recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. With the policies of Prime Minister Shri Modi and Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, Article 370 was abrogated in Jammu and Kashmir, ushering in one law across the country. He affirmed that the Bengali community in Madhya Pradesh is completely safe.

  • Unveiling of Netaji’s Statue and Inauguration of the Centenary Pillar

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav and Union Minister Shri J.P. Nadda unveiled the statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at the centenary year closing ceremony of the Siddhi Bala Bose Library Association. They also inaugurated the Centenary Pillar at the City Bengali Club. On the occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla and Public Works Minister Shri Rakesh Singh, among other dignitaries, were present.

At the centenary closing ceremony, it was announced that the Siddhi Bala Bose Library Association (City Bengali Club) is the largest and oldest institution of the Bengali community in the state. It is the only Bangla library in the state. Established in 1925 by Rai Bahadur Shri Prabhat Chandra Bose, the first Chairman of the Jabalpur Municipal Corporation and his associates, the library was founded in honour of his wife. Along with promoting Bangla culture, tradition, art, literature and language, the Club is also advancing girls’ education and has been running a Girls’ Higher Secondary School for the past 95 years.

Members of Parliament Shri Ashish Dubey, MLAs Shri Abhilash Pandey and Shri Ashok Rohani, Mayor Shri Jagat Bahadur Singh, along with many public representatives and a large number of citizens, were present at the event.
