Book Festival at MATS University Event Held on the Occasion of State’s Silver Jubilee Celebrations

The Department of Library and Information Science at MATS University organized a grand book festival to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the state of Chhattisgarh. The event was held at the MATS University campus in Pandri, Raipur.The book festival was inaugurated by the University’s Chancellor, Shri Gajraj Pagariya. The main objective of the event was to celebrate the state’s cultural and literary heritage and to promote a reading habit among students and readers. The program was presided over by Dr. Kalpana Chandrakar, Head of the Department of Library and Information Science.Various publishers and booksellers participated in this. Several books related to the history, art, culture, and literature of Chhattisgarh were displayed during the event. Students and literature enthusiasts participated enthusiastically.In her address, Dr. Chandrakar highlighted Chhattisgarh’s 25-year journey and the progress made in the field of education. She stated that, “Books are a storehouse of knowledge, and program like this gives an opportunity to connect with our roots and be inspired for the future.” She added that the book festival was not just a platform for the exchange of knowledge but also an important part of celebrating the glorious Silver Jubilee of the state of Chhattisgarh. The program concluded with a vote of thanks.The University’s Chancellor, Shri Gajraj Pagariya, Director General Shri Priyesh Pagariya, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. K.P. Yadav, Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Deepika Dhand, and Registrar Shri Gokulanand Panda praised the event. Heads of various departments and faculty members were present. Assistant Professor Shri Sanjay Shahjit, Shri Lukesh Kumar Mirche, Omlata Sahu, and Assistant Librarian Shri Shashikant Kosare of the department made special contribution for the success of this program.
