Chhattisgarh has been honored with five national awards

Chhattisgarh has been honored with five national awards under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana and the National Urban Livelihoods Mission. These awards were presented to urban local bodies by the Chief Minister, Mr. Vishnu Dev Sai, in recognition of their special efforts in empowering urban poor families and providing opportunities for their livelihoods, as per the directives of the government. This recognition highlights the state’s commitment to uplifting the underprivileged sections of society and ensuring their sustainable development.

The Municipality of Raipur has been awarded the second prize in the category of the best urban local bodies with a population of up to 50,000. This prestigious award was conferred during a ceremony organized at the India Habitat Center in New Delhi by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. The State Urban Development Authority (SUDA) and four municipal bodies of Bilaspur, Raigarh, Raipur, and Bhata Para were honored with the esteemed ‘SPARK 2023-24’ awards. This recognition underscores the exemplary work done by these urban bodies in promoting sustainable urban development and improving the quality of life for residents.

These accolades serve as a testament to the dedication and hard work put in by the urban local bodies in Chhattisgarh towards creating inclusive and vibrant urban spaces.
