  • 4.80 hectares of land allotted in Mainpat, tourism will get a new dimension

An important step has been taken to give a new impetus to tourism facilities and residential development in Mainpat, known as the “Shimla” of Chhattisgarh. The state government has allotted 4.80 hectares (12 acres) of land in Mainpat to the Chhattisgarh Housing Board for the Atal Vihar Scheme.

Mr. Anurag Singh Deo, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Housing Board, stated that construction of a modern and multi-purpose tourist-residential complex will begin soon on this land. Developed in harmony with the natural environment, this project will provide excellent, safe, and affordable accommodations for tourists visiting Mainpat.

Mr. Singh Deo said that this decision was made possible under the guidance of Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Dev Sai, and through the active efforts of Housing and Environment Minister Mr. O.P. Chaudhary and Tourism Minister Mr. Rajesh Agrawal. He added that the need for such facilities had long been felt due to the ever-increasing tourist arrivals in Mainpat.

The proposed complex will feature modern wellness and recreational facilities. Mr. Singh Deo stated that the project includes a wellness center based on the Kerala model, natural Panchakarma therapies, a herbal spa, and AYUSH services. A 24×7 clubhouse, a Millets Café, a gym, a swimming pool, a children’s play area, a steam bath, and an entertainment zone will also be developed. The eco-friendly development will also include tree houses, cottages, and a cultural zone that will provide an experience of local life and culture.

He said the project will boost tourism activities in Mainpat, create local employment opportunities, and open up new possibilities for the hospitality sector. The availability of quality accommodations will increase tourist stays, which will boost the regional economy.

Housing and Environment Minister Shri O.P. Choudhary said that Mainpat is a unique and emerging tourist destination in Chhattisgarh. Given the rapidly increasing tourist numbers, the development of modern facilities is essential. This initiative by the Housing Board will give a new direction to tourism, housing, and the local economy, and will firmly establish Mainpat on the national tourism map.

Tourism Minister Shri Rajesh Agrawal described the project as a milestone for Chhattisgarh’s tourism expansion. He said the development of modern tourism facilities will provide a better tourist experience and strengthen the state’s hospitality sector.

Sitapur MLA Shri Ramkumar Toppo, describing it as important for the overall development of Mainpat, said that this project will provide employment and business opportunities to the local youth and will give new heights to the identity of the area.

Chairman Shri Anurag Singh Deo said that this initiative will strengthen the historical role of the Housing Board in the field of tourism-housing development in Chhattisgarh and will lay the foundation for establishing Mainpat as a major national tourist destination in the future.
