  • Chhattisgarh’s daughter Akanksha Satyavanshi has enhanced the state’s prestige, honoured by Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai presented a Tata Sierra car to Akanksha Satyavanshi, physiotherapist of the Indian women’s cricket team and daughter of Chhattisgarh, at a solemn ceremony held at his residence in Nava Raipur today. Congratulating Akanksha, the Chief Minister said, “Our daughters have brought pride to the country by winning the World Cup.” He appreciated Tata Motors’ initiative to gift the car to honor and encourage the women’s cricket team.

Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that there is no shortage of sporting talent in the state and the state government is working with full commitment to promote sports. He added that the continuous development of sports infrastructure is providing better training to the state’s athletes, resulting in their excellent performance at the national and international levels. The Chief Minister said that through initiatives like the Bastar Olympics and Surguja Olympics, youth from remote areas of the state are also becoming involved in sports. The state’s hosting of the National Tribal Games has also created a positive environment for sports in the state.

The Chief Minister said that this historic achievement by the women’s cricket team will inspire the state’s daughters to move forward. He said that Akanksha’s confidence and energy were deeply inspiring during their last meeting, and that the same enthusiasm is evident in her today. He expressed confidence that this same spirit will lead the team to success in future World Cups.

Akanksha Satyavanshi, physiotherapist for the Indian women’s cricket team, said that upon returning from the World Cup victory, the Chief Minister of the state, Shri Vishnudev Sai, was the first to encourage the entire team and personally invited her to meet him, as a daughter of the state. She said that this affection and encouragement from the Chief Minister, like a guardian, always boosts her morale.

Mrs. Akanksha said that receiving this honor from the Chief Minister today has made her day memorable and will always be a special moment in her life. She also shared her experiences about her role as a physiotherapist on the team and their journey to World Cup victory.

On this occasion, Dr. Rampratap Singh, President of Building and Other Construction Workers Board, family members of Mrs. Akanksha and representatives of Tata Motors were present.

It is noteworthy that Tata Motors is gifting the Indian women’s cricket team a Tata Sierra SUV to commemorate their historic victory in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025. In the same sequence, Chhattisgarh resident and Indian women’s cricket team physiotherapist Mrs. Akanksha Satyavanshi was also presented a Tata Sierra car today.
The Indian women’s cricket team created history last year by winning its first Women’s World Cup title. In recognition of this achievement, Tata Motors had announced to gift the top-end model of the Sierra SUV to each player of the team.
