Energy Minister Shri Tomar launches three innovations of ‘Poorva Kshetra’ Power Distribution Company

  • Energy Minister inaugurates a synthetic lawn tennis court

Energy Minister Pradyumn Singh Tomar on Monday launched three innovations of the East Region Power Distribution Company through video conferencing, aimed at benefiting electricity consumers, pensioners, and strengthening administrative systems. He also virtually inaugurated a synthetic lawn tennis court. The initiatives include the launch of the Nalanda Record Room, the QR Feedback System, and the release of the Pension Mitra booklet.

  • Nalanda Record Room

Minister Shri Tomar said that a modern and fully computerized record room has been developed by the East Region Company. Records have been preserved in high-quality plastic boxes to protect them from moisture, sunlight, dampness, termites, and deterioration. Files have been classified department-wise and indexed on separate racks, enabling easy computer-based searches. All old records at the headquarters have now been brought under one roof, ensuring clean and well-organized corridors and store rooms across offices. The record room has been equipped with CCTV cameras and fire safety systems.

The record room houses over 32,000 files, including approximately 7,000 from the Human Resources Department, 6,000 from the Works Department, 4,500 from Purchase and Stores, 6,000 from the Commercial Department, 3,000 from the Finance Department, and around 6,000 from other departments. This initiative will ensure the safety of important files, registers, orders, and maps, providing protection against fire, moisture, termites, theft, and damage.

QR Feedback System

The Energy Minister said that the technical innovation—the QR Feedback System—has also been launched by the East Region Company. QR codes will be displayed at easily accessible locations across all company offices, including distribution centers, substations, sub-divisions, divisions, accounts offices, circles, regional offices, and the corporate office. These will be placed at main gates, notice boards, corridors, consumer counters, and outside the cabins of officers and employees.

By scanning the QR code, consumers can share their experiences and suggestions regarding the behavior of officials and staff, work processes, and office cleanliness within one to two minutes, directly with the management. This system is not a grievance redressal mechanism but a tool to improve overall service quality and administrative efficiency through positive feedback and suggestions.

  • ‘Pension Mitra’ Booklet

Minister Shri Tomar said that the Pension Mitra booklet is a highly commendable initiative aimed at strengthening the dignity, self-respect, and self-reliance of employees. The booklet presents pension-related rules, orders, and procedures in a simple, user-friendly, and integrated manner, ensuring that pensioners can access clear information about their entitlements at a single place without any inconvenience.

Along with this, an AI-based digital chatbot linked to the Pension Mitra booklet has also been launched. Pensioners can ask questions related to pension, gratuity, commutation, allowances, and other benefits and receive instant, relevant responses, facilitating quicker resolution of their cases.

  • Synthetic Lawn Tennis Court

Minister Shri Tomar said that a synthetic tennis court inaugurated by Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited, Jabalpur, will prove to be a boon for tennis players and will also encourage new players to take up the sport. He extended heartfelt congratulations to Managing Director Shri Anay Dwivedi and the entire team of officers and employees for the efforts and innovations undertaken by the East Region Power Distribution Company.
