- Cabinet Committee reviews supply of petrol, diesel, LPG and CNG
A meeting of the Cabinet Committee, constituted to review the impact of international developments and the situation in the Middle East countries on the state, was held on Tuesday at the Ministry. In the meeting, the members of the committee gave instructions to ensure the availability of commercial LPG at the district and tehsil level. They reviewed the supply of petrol, diesel, LPG, CNG and PNG in the state. In the meeting, the members of the committee said that if any irregularity or black marketing is found at any level, immediate action should be taken. Special attention should be paid to the availability of LPG in both urban and rural areas. Petroleum products are available in sufficient quantity in the state. Due to sufficient availability of crude oil, there is a continuous supply of petroleum products.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Jagdish Devda, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Shri Govind Singh Rajput, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Shri Chaitanya Kashyap, Additional Chief Secretary Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Smt. Rashmi Arun Shami, Food Commissioner Shri Karmaveer Sharma and State Nodal Officer of Oil Company Shri Ajay Srivastava were present in the meeting.
- Cylinder booking in 25 days in cities and 45 days in villages
It was informed at the meeting that domestic gas cylinder bookings are being done every 25 days in cities and 45 days in villages. Currently, gas bookings are normal and are being regularly replenished. The state has adequate availability of petrol, diesel, LPG, CNG, and PNG. PNG connections are being provided to homes where pipelines have reached them. In the last one day, 225 new PNG connections have been provided.
- Commercial cylinders are being given up to 70 percent
Shrivastava, the oil company’s state nodal officer, stated at the meeting that commercial cylinders are currently being made available under a 70 percent limit, as per Government of India’s directives. Initially, only 20 percent were being supplied.
- Action against black marketing
Strict action is being taken against those black-marketing gas cylinders in the state. So far, 3,872 cylinders have been seized in 3,226 locations, and FIRs have been registered in 11 cases.
- Emphasis on PNG connection expansion
It was informed at the meeting that all City Gas Distribution (CGD) organizations have been given the target of providing 200,000 new PNG connections in the next three months. CGD organizations have been instructed to continuously monitor the daily applications and the PNG connections granted against them. Think Gas, the nodal CGD organization, has been instructed to prepare and provide FAQs regarding the benefits of PNG and the PNG connection process. CGD organizations have been instructed to upload pipeline information to the Government of India’s Gatishakti portal. CGD organizations will schedule district-wise and locality-wise camps and provide them to the district administration and the department. Consumers in the areas surrounding the city pipeline have been informed by the oil company to immediately apply for PNG connections. Failure to obtain a PNG connection after this time could result in the LPG connection being discontinued within the next three months.
District supply officers have been instructed to provide the CGD organization with a list of trainees from the MPIDC district officer, polytechnics, and ITIs located in the district. The CGD organization will increase manpower by clubbing these trainees with existing vendors.
10 organizations working in the City Gas Distribution (CGD) in the state have been instructed to increase the availability of PNG connections. For this, control rooms have been set up where demands and complaints of domestic and commercial consumers are being resolved promptly. In areas where PNG pipelines have been laid, residential complexes, schools, hostels, colleges, community kitchens and Anganwadi centers have been instructed to provide PNG connections within 5 days of receiving applications. To monitor the progress of PNG connections, the Collector, ADM, District Supply Officer and officials of the concerned CGD organizations will review at the district level.
As per the central government’s directives, the Urban Administration and Development, Panchayat and Rural Development, Public Works Department, and the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation have issued orders to grant RoU permission to CGD organizations to lay pipelines within 24 hours of their application for providing PNG connections. The department has approved more than 10 RoU applications within 24 hours.
The control room numbers of CGD institutions for domestic and commercial PNG applicants to get PNG connection are as follows: Avantika Gas Limited – Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior (9424098887), Gail Gas Limited – Dewas, Raisen, Shajapur, Sehore (7880001788), Naveria Gas Limited – Dhar (07292-223311), Think Gas – Bhopal, Rajgarh, Shivpuri (1800-5727-107), IOCL – Guna (9425991090), Mauganj, Rewa (9424836488), Ashoknagar (9425119522), Morena (7223982333), BPCL – Maihar, Satna Shahdol (9424738607), Sidhi, Singrauli (9424341954), Gujarat Gas Ltd. Ratlam (7412230292) is included. Domestic and commercial consumers in the vicinity of pipelines from these locations in the state can apply for PNG connections.
