- CM Dr. Yadav Felicitated in Sanskardhani Jabalpur after Successful World Economic Forum–Davos Visit
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that a state’s identity is shaped not merely by its geographical map but by its achievements. Owing to effective policies and their successful implementation, Madhya Pradesh is today carving out a new identity not only at the national level but also globally. The state is progressing rapidly on the path of industrial development and is emerging as an attractive destination for investors. The Chief Minister was addressing a felicitation event organised by traders and entrepreneurs of the Mahakaushal Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Jabalpur after his participation in the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the situation prevailing prior to 2014 has changed. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India is steadily advancing on the path of progress, and today every country in the world is eager to connect with India for trade and investment. Public Works Minister Shri Rakesh Singh, Mayor Shri Jagat Bahadur Singh ‘Annu’, Member of Parliament Shri Ashish Dubey, MLAs Shri Ashok Rohani and Dr. Abhilash Pandey, along with representatives of trade and business organisations, were present at the event. The Chief Minister said that although representatives from over 200 countries participated in WEF–2026 at Davos, the Indian delegation drew the greatest attention. Along with the Government of India, ten states showcased their presence on this global platform, with Madhya Pradesh emerging prominently. He stated that the state has especially attracted global investors in the renewable energy sector. Madhya Pradesh is producing affordable power through wind energy, solar energy and the power sector, supplying electricity at a rate as low as ₹2.10 per unit.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, emphasising that economic prosperity is essential for the development of any state, said that without financial strength, effective implementation of development schemes becomes difficult. Madhya Pradesh is emerging as an economic powerhouse, backed by robust infrastructure such as roads, electricity, water supply and land banks, enabling industries and businesses across sectors to thrive. The year 2025 is being observed as the Industry and Employment Year in Madhya Pradesh.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that India currently has one of the fastest growth rates in the world, and Madhya Pradesh is playing a leading role among the states. Madhya Pradesh ranks fifth in the country in terms of population and stands first in youth strength. Due to effective state policies, Madhya Pradesh is among the three states in India with the lowest unemployment rate. Despite having a population of nearly nine crore, the state’s low unemployment rate, compared to smaller states like Tripura and Telangana, stands out as a major achievement. He stated that the state’s per capita income is continuously rising, reflecting growing prosperity.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the state government is consistently promoting employment-oriented industries. A capital subsidy of up to 30 per cent is being provided for industrial establishment, while the MSME sector is eligible for subsidies of up to 60 per cent. New policies are being formulated to ensure optimal utilisation of state resources. He noted that Madhya Pradesh is leading the country in the rapid establishment of medical colleges. Entrepreneurs interested in setting up medical colleges are being provided 25 acres of land at a nominal rate of Re 1, and students selected through NEET in private medical colleges will be offered loan support by the state government for fee payment.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, highlighting the importance of industrialisation for urban growth, said that metropolitan areas progress rapidly with industrial development. Industrialisation is being encouraged for the development of major cities in the state. A comprehensive master plan will be prepared for the overall development of Jabalpur, covering all cities within a 50-kilometre radius.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also said that Madhya Pradesh is the only state in the country witnessing the expansion of the cheetah family, a matter of pride for the entire Asian continent. To boost tourism, helicopter services have been launched in the state, offering a 45-minute journey at a fare of just ₹3,500—significantly lower than in other states, which is expected to give fresh momentum to tourism in Madhya Pradesh.
