Former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today at the Chief Minister’s residence office in Naya Raipur. The Chief Minister felicitated Kapil Dev by presenting him with a bell metal replica and a coffee table book titled “Punyabhoomi Chhattisgarh.” During the meeting, the two discussed in detail the promotion of sports in the state, the development of modern sports infrastructure, international-level training centers, and the development of talented athletes. Chief Minister Subodh Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, was present.
Chief Minister Sai detailed the state government’s efforts to promote sports and provide better facilities for athletes. He stated that expanding infrastructure, training, and opportunities is a priority for the government to strengthen the sports culture in the state.
Former captain Kapil Dev commended the positive changes taking place in Chhattisgarh, stating that in this environment of security, trust, and development, the state’s talents will receive excellent platforms at the national and international levels, and Chhattisgarh will progress as a safe, prosperous, and developed state.
