Sowing of Kharif crop has started in the state and farmers have started agricultural work with full dedication. On the instructions of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, the state government is providing the necessary resources for farming like fertilizers, seeds and loan facilities to the farmers on priority basis, so that they do not face any kind of problem. The positive impact of these schemes and facilities is now clearly visible at the ground level.
Due to the farmer-friendly decisions taken under the leadership of the Chief Minister, new enthusiasm is being seen among the farmers towards farming. The purchase of 21 quintals of paddy per acre at the rate of Rs. per quintal in the state has filled the farmers with confidence and enthusiasm. Another big decision was taken in the recently held cabinet meeting, in which it was announced to give the benefit of Krishak Unnati Yojana to farmers who take alternative crops like pulses, oilseeds, maize instead of registered paddy crop. Farmers have welcomed this decision wholeheartedly and called it a big step towards increasing the scope of farming and prosperity.
According to the information received from the Cooperative Department, District Jashpur, an increase of 16.13 percent has been registered in the lifting of chemical fertilizers this year. While 7566.100 tonnes of fertilizers were distributed till the end of June 2024, it has increased to 8786.190 tonnes by the end of June 2025. Similarly, there has been a significant increase of 8.62 percent in the distribution of short-term loans. Last year, a loan of Rs 34.68 crore was made available to the farmers till the end of June, while this year this figure has increased to Rs 37.67 crore. That is, a total increase of Rs 2.99 crore has been recorded.
Distribution of crop seeds through Kisan Credit Card has also witnessed an impressive 79.55 percent increase. Last year till June, 1332.21 quintals of paddy seeds were distributed, while this year this figure has increased to 2392.46 quintals.
It is clear from these concrete efforts of the state government that farmers are getting the opportunity to do farming without the scarcity of resources and they are moving forward towards better production with new hope. Due to the sensitivity and foresight of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai towards farmers, the agriculture sector in Chhattisgarh is not only getting strengthened but is also moving towards economic progress.
