Farming has now become convenient due to the farmer-friendly schemes of the Chhattisgarh government and promotion of mechanization. Under the Agricultural Mechanization Sub-Mission Scheme of the government, farmers are being given large-scale subsidy to buy modern agricultural equipment. Under this scheme, Shri Chohaldas Sahu, a farmer of Dongargaon block village Kesla of Rajnandgaon district, has received a subsidy of Rs 4 lakh 10 thousand for paddy transplanter machine. Farmer Shri Sahu said that the total cost of the machine is Rs 9 lakh.
The work of planting saplings with the Paddy Transplanter has become much faster, easier and more accurate. This is saving both labour and time. With its help, saplings can be planted in 4 acres of land in a day, due to which the farming work has become much faster than before. With its use, the distance between the plants in the sowing of the crop remains balanced, which reduces diseases and improves the growth of the crop. Dependence on labourers has also decreased and agricultural costs have come down. Up to 31 quintals of paddy is produced per acre when saplings are planted with the machine. Farmer Mr. Sahu told that along with transplanting paddy with the Paddy Transplanter, he is also doing the work of planting saplings on rent on the land of other farmers. He has also got an additional income of about 1 lakh 20 thousand rupees by planting saplings on about 40 acres of land at the rate of Rs 3,500 per acre.
Under the Agricultural Mechanization Sub-Mission Scheme of the government, modern agriculture equipment like tractors, threshers, harvesters, drones, sprayers, seed drills, mulchers are being provided to farmers on subsidy assistance, which has increased ease and productivity in the field of agriculture. In Rajnandgaon district, a total grant of Rs 3.31 crore has been given by the government to farmers to purchase agricultural equipment in the year 2024-25. With these schemes of the government, farmers are now moving beyond traditional farming towards technology-based modern farming, due to which their income is increasing and farming work is becoming easier.
