Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai reviewed the law and order situation in the state in a meeting held at the Chief Minister’s residence on Friday.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that strict action should be taken against criminals and anti-social elements. Law and order should be maintained in all circumstances and police should take prompt action and be vigilant.
Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Shri Vijay Sharma were also present in the meeting.
Emphasizing on alertness and possibility of consequences of incidents, Shri Sai said that Police should be in watchfulness state to keep a close eye on the incidents happening at the local level and anticipate their course of action accordingly.
To prevent crimes, illegal drug trade should be curbed and prompt action should be taken on smuggling of ganja, illegal liquor, drugs. Police patrolling should be done regularly in urban and rural areas at night. Senior police officers should also do patrolling compulsorily. Police patrolling should be done regularly in railway stations, bus stands, airports as well as sensitive areas. Shopping malls, shops, hotels etc. in urban and rural areas should be closed at the prescribed time at night. Beer bars and hotels should be closed at the stipulated timeline. Strict action should be taken against those hotels where complaints of illegal sale of liquor are received, added Sai.
The Chief Minister said that effective action should be taken promptly to stop cyber crime.
On this occasion, Chief Secretary Mr Amitabh Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Home Mr Manoj Kumar Pingua, Director General of Police Mr Ashok Juneja, Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr Rahul Bhagat and senior officers of the Home Department were present.
