- Chief Minister Dr. Yadav pays tribute to the brave martyrs by offering a wreath on National Police commemoration Day in Ujjain
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav while addressing the programme at Police Line Ujjain on the occasion of Police Memorial Day on Monday said that Police Memorial Day is celebrated every year on 21 October in the memory of martyred policemen who set a unique example of duty-devotion by sacrificing their lives for the internal security, unity, integrity of the country. The police personnel serve the public day and night, sacrificing their lives with the motto of patriotism and public service. I salute all such martyred policemen. Police personnel help in the operation of the country’s services and make the highest contribution to the internal security of the country. MP Shri Anil Ferozia, MLA Shri Anil Jain Kaluhera, Shri Satish Malviya, Ujjain Mayor Shri Mukesh Tatwal, Ujjain Municipal Corporation Chairperson Smt. Kalavati Yadav and senior officials were present in the programme.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that during the Corona period, the police personnel remained vigilantly deployed on the altar of duty. The country and state take pride in remembering this unique contribution of the police personnel. During the Corona period, the population of the country remained safe due to the excellent work of the policemen, health workers and sanitation workers. From independence till today, the police personnel have proved their role meaningful on many such difficult situations. He said that “You are full of courage and valour, your bold steps are bigger than every problem, salute to your bravery, tributes to your valour, you are our strength, the pride of Madhya Pradesh.”
In the programme, the police personnel performed a parade and saluted the brave martyrs. The parade was led by Reserve Inspector Shri Ranjit Singh. In the programme, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, public representatives and officials paid tribute to the brave martyr police personnel by offering floral wreaths. During this, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav honoured the family members of late martyr Lal Bahadur Singh and late Balram by presenting them shawls and shrifals. The CM got introduced to the parade commander.
IG Shri Santosh Kumar Singh said that Police commemoration day reminds us of those brave police personnel who have sacrificed their lives to protect the society and the country. 65 years ago, on 21 October 1959, 10 jawans of the patrolling party of the Central Reserve Police Force sacrificed their lives in an encounter with the Chinese armed forces at an altitude of 16 thousand feet in the snowy area of Hotspring in Ladakh. Since then, every year 21 October is celebrated as Police commemoration Day.
