Shooter Swapnil Kusale Wins Bronze

Swapnil Kusale secured India’s third medal at the Paris Olympics 2024, claiming a bronze in the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions final. India’s total of three bronze medals have all been earned in shooting events. Following their opening win, the star duo of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy were defeated in the men’s doubles badminton quarterfinal match by Malaysia’s Aaron Chia and Soh Woo Yik. Meanwhile, shooters Sift Kaur Samra and Anjum Moudgil did not qualify for the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Women’s event. Earlier in the day, boxer Nikhat Zareen was eliminated in the women’s 50kg round, losing 0-5 to China’s Wu Yu. Additionally, the Indian men’s hockey team suffered their first group stage loss, falling 1-2 to defending champions Belgium.
