Kabirdham ranks first in the state in providing employment to maximum families, maximum man-days of employment and maximum number of disabled people.

  • The district has achieved many achievements on different parameters of Mahatma Gandhi NREGA scheme.

Under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, Kabirdham district has achieved many achievements by better implementation of the scheme in the financial year 2025-26 and has secured the first position in the state. Under the guidance of Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Sharma, Kabirdham district has achieved many achievements on many parameters including providing maximum man-days of employment to the villagers, employment to maximum families, employment to maximum disabled people. During departmental reviews, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Sharma has been continuously encouraging the villagers to benefit from government schemes. And today, as a result of this, Kabirdham district has once again established its name in the first row in the state by performing better in the implementation of MNREGA scheme.

  • Continuous efforts yielded positive results – Collector Shri Gopal Verma

Kabirdham Collector Shri Gopal Verma stated that Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma conducted continuous reviews to provide employment to villagers. Numerous construction projects were approved upon the demand of gram panchayats, and work was initiated, providing employment to villagers. A large amount of construction work is underway from forest areas to plain areas. Timely payment of wages has been ensured. Currently, adequate employment is available for villagers. In the financial year 2025-26, 11,466 families received 100 days of employment and benefited financially. It is our constant endeavor to ensure that the MNREGA scheme benefits the most vulnerable in society. The scheme is achieving substantial work in key areas such as water conservation, natural resource management, and livelihoods. 

  • Main objective is to enhance livelihood along with employment – CEO Mr. Abhishek Agarwal

CEO Mr. Abhishek Agarwal stated that special attention was paid to providing employment on demand, timely approval of construction work, and ensuring employment opportunities in all sectors. Consequently, villagers in all areas of the district received adequate employment, enabling us to excel in the state. Numerous water conservation projects, including the construction of livelihood ponds, new ponds, unpaved drains, and deepening of old ponds, have been prioritized, along with livelihood projects like poultry sheds and animal husbandry sheds. New projects begun in the last week of March will further enhance the district’s achievements, and our villagers are expected to benefit even more. It is noteworthy that the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme provides a large number of employment opportunities to villagers. The scheme also provides employment to villagers and creates various assets in the village. Kabirdham district has consistently led the state in implementing the scheme for several years, and villagers are benefiting from it.

  • Parameters of MNREGA scheme in which Kabirdham achieved success

Creation of the highest number of man-days of employment – The district’s villagers received 58,54,040 man-days of employment, ranking first in the state. Employment for the highest number of rural families – 142,482 rural families in the district received employment, ranking first in the state. Employment for the highest number of disabled people – 2,538 disabled people in the district were provided 58,493 man-days of employment, ranking first in the state. Rural women also received better employment opportunities – 130,160 women are registered under the scheme and have received 29,33,959 man-days of employment. Kabirdham district ranks third in the state in terms of employment for women. Wage payments of over ₹124.53 billion (1245.34 billion rupees) – Wage payments of ₹1245.34 billion (1245.34 billion rupees) were directly credited to the bank accounts of rural people employed under MNREGA. Kabirdham district ranks third in the state in terms of wage payments. The wages paid to the villagers are strengthening the rural economy by empowering them economically.
