The third day of the women’s hockey competition, held today at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Hockey Stadium in Raipur
, the capital of the Khelo India Tribal Games, saw matches. In Pool A, Madhya Pradesh defeated Bihar 9-0. In Pool B, Jharkhand defeated Gujarat 16-0, and Odisha defeated Tamil Nadu 14-0. All matches played today were one-sided, with the winning teams dominating the game throughout.
It is noteworthy that participants from 30 states and union territories are participating in this first edition of the Khelo India Tribal Games. Approximately 3,800 athletes are competing in nine different sports.
A total of 106 gold medals are at stake in sports such as archery, athletics, football, hockey, swimming, weightlifting, and wrestling. Mallakhamb and Kabaddi have been included as demonstration sports.
