Life changed due to Mahatari Vandan Yojana

The Chhattisgarh government’s Mahtari Vandan Yojana is writing a new chapter of change in women’s lives. With financial assistance from the government, women are not only becoming self-reliant but also establishing their own identities in society. Suryakali Baiga, a resident of Kudra village in the Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district, is a prime example.

Suryakali Baiga receives a monthly assistance of ₹1,000 under the scheme. Instead of spending this amount, she started saving regularly. After some time, she added a little more to her savings and bought a sewing machine, which transformed her life. Suryakali began sewing clothes from her home. Initially, she did odd jobs for the villagers, but her hard work and quality work soon earned her recognition. Gradually, people from nearby villages began coming to her for tailoring. This increased her income, and she began contributing to her family’s financial needs.

Suryakali explains that her life used to be limited to household chores, but now she’s supplementing her family’s income with her skills. This has boosted her self-confidence, and she feels more empowered. She expressed her gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai for this scheme. Suryakali Baiga’s success is inspiring other women. Her initiative has inspired many women to start small businesses. The Mahatari Vandan Yojana not only provides financial support, but also provides women with the opportunity to progress with self-reliance and dignity.
