Madhya Pradesh is becoming a leader in dealing with climate change: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that climate change is a serious global challenge. Climate change is an issue related to human survival , economic stability and the future of future generations. He said that we cannot ignore the environment in the course of sustainable development. Striking a balance between development and environmental protection is the fundamental basis of progress. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasized that working on a concrete and time-bound solution to climate change is the need of the day. He said that the contribution of states in India’s climate change engagements is also important. Madhya Pradesh is the largest producer of renewable energy and a leader in dealing with climate change. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh is one of the fastest growing states in the country. Almost every sector has developed rapidly here. The Chief Minister gave all possible support to investors willing to invest in MP in the field of renewable energy and guaranteed confidence and security, saying that the state and investors together will make the country self-sufficient in terms of renewable energy. He said that Madhya Pradesh is rapidly advancing in the direction of providing 24 hours electricity. Our relationships with investors will take business to new heights in the renewable energy sector.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing Climate Week-2026 in Mumbai on Wednesday evening. On this occasion, Chief Minister Dr. New and Renewable Energy Department (Government of MP) and Sequoia Climate Foundation, famous for green energy, for the development of new and renewable energy sector in Madhya Pradesh. The MoU was signed in Yadav’s presence.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that only one country , one state or one government cannot solve the challenge of climate change , for this national and international cooperation is very necessary. He said that Mumbai Climate Week is an important platform to move forward for energy transformation , green development and climate solutions. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasized the need for immediate and collective efforts to reduce carbon emissions. He said that promotion of clean sources of energy , adoption of green technologies and balanced utilization of natural resources is the way of future development. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the responsibility of keeping the earth safe and balanced is with the governments as well as the industries , organizations and every citizen living in this country. He appealed to adopt practical changes like ‘ Lifestyle for Environment ‘ linking environmental protection with public participation .

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav informed about the innovations of the Madhya Pradesh government in the direction of dealing with climate change through green energy production and said that Madhya Pradesh is one of the leading states of India , which has made its own identity in the renewable energy sector. He said that Madhya Pradesh is the first state , which has made an EV policy , which is an effective step towards climate change. The Chief Minister informed that our government is working on 24 x 7 hours renewable energy battery based energy storage projects in Madhya Pradesh including 300 MW 4 hour solar co-energy storage project , 300 MW 6 hour solar co-energy project . This is a new experiment. This is the first project of its kind in India. Madhya Pradesh is the first state of the country , which is moving forward in this direction.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that in the last 12 years there has been an unexpected increase in the renewable energy potential of MP. Annual growth of 48 percent in solar energy and 19 percent in wind energy has been recorded. Through large projects of renewable energy, we have made M.P. After meeting the requirements, it has started supplying clean energy to the neighboring states and Indian Railways as well. He said that Omkareshwar Floating Solar Project is the largest floating solar project in the world. This is one such project , in which we did not displace any citizen , power generation has also started in this project.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Sanchi in Madhya Pradesh has become the country’s first solar city. We are moving towards installing solar rooftops on all government buildings. The Chief Minister said that our government in collaboration with investors , private sector and policy makers is moving rapidly towards making MP the renewable energy hub of India. We are also providing financial and policy incentives in all renewable technologies including solar , wind , energy storage , biofuel and green hydrogen. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav challenged investors to join us in Madhya Pradesh’s rapidly transformative journey. This will help in balancing the climate , it will take all trade and business to new heights and will also contribute significantly to the development of MP. He said that we will create a brighter future for MP and India while achieving the goals of energy security , environmental protection and sustainable development.

New and Renewable Energy Minister Shri Rakesh Shukla said that to deal with the challenges of climate change we are moving towards battery storage based energy generation. Work has been done on Omkareshwar Floating Solar Power Project in MP , Ultra Mega Solar Project in Shajapur , Agar-Malwa and Rewa. He appealed to the investors and said that Madhya Pradesh is a land of endless possibilities. Invest here , the government is with you.

Additional Chief Secretary New and Renewable Energy Shri Manu Srivastava said that renewable energy is an efficient , cheap and reliable option for electricity supply . We are supplying electricity to the citizens of Madhya Pradesh at minimum rates. He asked the investors and industrialists to tell about their needs and suggestions in the new and renewable energy sector , the government will include these suggestions in all the innovations made for the development of this sector. ACS Shri Srivastava said that the Chief Minister for 24 x 7 hours electricity supply in MP. Yadav made a commitment to the world community at the World Economic Forum in Davos , which we are going to fulfill now.

International Finance Corporation (IFC) affiliated to the World Bank Group, South Asia Regional Director Mr. Imad N. Fakhouri said that Madhya Pradesh government’s boom in renewable energy generation sector is commendable. The thinking and direction of the government in the development of this sector is clear. We are impressed with Madhya Pradesh government’s investor friendly design on 24 x 7 hours renewable energy. We will leverage all the attributes and expertise of Madhya Pradesh’s renewable energy generation sector on a global scale. He said that we will give all necessary support to the government for the establishment of FDRE centers in Madhya Pradesh.

India Director of Sequoia Climate Foundation Ms. Seema Paul said that Madhya Pradesh is a leader in renewable energy sector. About 500 GW of renewable energy generation is currently underway in MP. He said that we are partners and partners of Madhya Pradesh in the development and expansion of renewable energy. He said that in this direction we are also making an MoU for partnership with Madhya Pradesh today.

Program Dr. Ashwini Kumar and Shri Amit Singh also addressed. Highlighted the development and innovations in renewable energy sector in Madhya Pradesh. On this occasion, environmental experts , policymakers and a large number of industry representatives from home and abroad participated. M.P. Managing Director of Urja Vikas Nigam Shri Amanveer Singh Bains was also present.
