The primary objective of the programme was to spread awareness about the provisions of the POSH Act, 2013, and to promote workplace dignity, safety, equality, and moral responsibility. The Act provides a comprehensive legal framework for the prevention and prohibition of sexual harassment at the workplace and ensures effective redressal mechanisms, including the mandatory constitution of an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) in every organization.
The programme was specially conducted for the employees of Shubham K-Mart as well as members of the general public visiting the premises. LL.B. students presented an impactful Nukkad Natak portraying real-life situations of workplace harassment, highlighting women’s rights, ethical values, and the legal remedies available under the POSH Act, 2013. The performance emphasized that ensuring a safe and respectful workplace is not only a legal obligation but also a moral and social duty.
The event was organized under the esteemed guidance of Hon’ble Chancellor Shri Gajraj Pagariya Ji, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) K. P. Yadav, Registrar Shri Gokulananda Panda, and Director General Shri Priyesh Pagariya. The programme was conducted under the leadership of Head of the Department Dr. Prashant Kumar and coordinated by Dr. I. Nagmani Deshlahre (Event Coordinator).
During the awareness drive, students interacted with employees and members of the public, addressed queries related to the POSH Act, 2013, and distributed informative pamphlets. The initiative aimed to strengthen constitutional values, gender justice, morality, sensitivity, and the development of a safe and ethical work culture.
The programme received an encouraging and positive response from employees and the public present at Shubham K-Mart. Through such community-based legal outreach initiatives, MATS University continues to uphold its commitment toward social responsibility, moral values, and practical legal education.
