Today on 1st August 2025 the School of Business and Management Studies under the aegis of MATS University in collaboration with the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics (GST Department) organized a one-day workshop on drug abuse and its preventive measures for MATS University students.
The chief guest and speaker of the workshop was Mr. Sameer Wankhede, Additional Commissioner, (Directorate General of Tax Payer Services, Chennai Zonal Unit). He focused on drug abuse and its impact on the health of the youth of the country He motivated the students to live a healthy life and move ahead in their career. Students asked various questions to the guest speaker.
The second guest of the workshop was Mr. Shailendra Kumar, Regional Director, GST, he highlighted the negative effects of drug abuse and motivated the students to stay away from it.
The program was addressed by Dean Business and Management Studies Dr. Umesh Gupta. He delivered the welcome address and also highlighted that such awareness program are regularly organized in the university campus.
The program was presided over by Chancellor Shri Gajraj Pagariya, Vice Chancellor Dr. K.P. Yadav, Director General Shri Priyesh Pagariya, Registrar Shri Gokulananda Panda. He motivated the students not to indulge in drug related activities and blessed them for their bright future while congratulating the department for organizing such positive awareness program.
The event was very lively and inspiring as a large number of students and faculty members were present and the event concluded with a vote of thanks and group photo session.
